Tom Brady suspension to be upheld
|
I'm perfectly OK with a botched investigation proving nothing followed by stiff penalties for the Pats and Brady. As Jastremski so eloquently put it, F- Tom. If the harsh punishment serves to prevent further attempts at cheating, I'm all for it.
But something tells me BB and TB aren't capable of playing it straight up. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:You'd be amazed at the hoops companies will jump through when faced with a Subpoena that they won't do just based on a simple request. The NFL can't subpoena another company. C'mon son
so wait a minute. Even I the investigation didn't prove anything you're okay with HARSH penalties.
and there goes Byron's objectivity. Tell me you're not running for states attorney?
Brady is guilty and Belichick probably is, too. There's too much there to suggest it was all a big mistake. Brady has acted guilty from day one. He clammed up, lawyered up, and then lied to investigators. The smirk went away and never came back. If Brady was really innocent, why would he agree to play another down in a league that would railroad him like that? I wouldn't continue to work for a boss who framed me, and I need the money - Brady doesn't.
Not my fault if the Patriots manage to hide or destroy most of the evidence or if the NFL botches the investigation. That's why I'm okay with the stiff penalties. Justice is never perfect, but I feel the Pats deserve to be slapped, even if there's no smoking gun. I just want them to stop cheating. We show less advertisements to registered users. lol. Destroyed all the evidence?
They had the electronic device of every non NFL PA employee, they had the footballs, the had two of Tom Brady's telephones, and they have the meta data from his last device. and anyone potentially involved in a conspiracy would have already surrendered their electronic devices. At no time, did anyone in the league office offer any evidence to support the idea that Tom Brady at any time told any employee of the patriots that he wanted anything other than 12.5 psi in his footballs. While you're so hot on evidence, where is the written record of the pre-game PSI measurements. Id like to see it. oh wait, it doesn't exist. If you went before a judge and told him there was no written record of the pre-game PSI you would be laughed out of court. Where's the gauge that the ref used. he doesn't remember? please. He would have been absolutely DESTROYED on cross examination before a judge ever issued a warrant for any electronic devices, let alone intrusive requests of union employees. And then lets get to the sting itself. Where are the established procedures for testing game balls at halftime. LEt me save you the time, THERE ISN'T ANY! In reality, when you look at the halftime data there is more circumstantial evidence to support collusion among the LEAugE OFFICIALS than there is of the patriots. But hey, you already said that you don't care if the investigation is fair or if it was botched. You just don't like tom brady and the pats. Not to mention the fact that you keep asserting that Belichick was involved when the NFL has access to ALL of his communications all of his devices and at no time did they have any evidence to support the low bar of proof put forth by the NFL. Biased is a sad thing to say.
Quote:The NFL can't subpoena another company. C'mon son I guess you missed the part of the conversation where I stated that "Assuming this goes to court now, a Subpoena can be issued" . Maybe you should try reading next time before adding crap like "C'mon son". You can be the judge jury and executioner, but you can't continually rewrite the law as you see fit.Brett Favre was uncooperative in a case about civil issues. Penises on cell phones and females involved, yadda yadda. We're talking about the integrity of the game itself. Something the Cheatriots have been **** for before. There are plenty of arguments on both sides of it all. Some of you are arguing just to argue. I have never been a Roger Goodell fan. Still aren't really. But I'm a big fan of someone getting their just deserved. Tom's had it a long time coming I think. Fining millionaire football players does NOTHING. Fining some 54th man does. And the "unprecedented" argument is silly as well. At some point someone sets the precedent. "Covering up a probable cheating scandal" = 4 games. Seems pretty fair when you factor in dudes that smoke weed getting life sentences and what not. But you select few can keep playing Devil's Advocate if you want. Suspension should be upheld. Period. Don't like it? Rewrite the CBA in a few years. 2 owners should convince the other 30 to fire Goodell? And I think if the Pats had just taken all their lumps, this wouldn't be such a mountain right now. Getting the Federal courts involved... sillyness.
Integrity of the game my rear end. If it was that important why didnt they have a written record of the psi and surface tepetature of the ball huh? And what about the refs during the jets game that onflated balls to 16 psi? Integrity of the game would necessitate an investigation wouldnt it? This is a witch hunt plain and simple and goodell is using the biased as people like u and byron to bolster his comissionership.

I think Tommy's own ball boy gave him the 16 psi balls in the Jets game. Tom wasn't too popular among the low-pay minions he was exploiting. Maybe that's why his house has a moat.
The thing about Brady, I live near Boston, yet am a fan of j.j since Leftwich, Go B.B.! Is that the whole rest of the league has been using properly inflated balls, yet Brady has not. So he get's the advantage of being the only QB with a lighter ball. Regularly !
So, as we know, in the secondary, 1-10th of a second is an eternity, i.e. a 4.4, 40 yard dash corner is avg. a 4.65 40 yard dash corner is not even a player. So if an avg. armed Brady throws a lighter ball a little quicker, and the whole league is throwing standard balls, by the measurement of speed re: the secondary, that is a huge advantage. Plus he does not have to try as hard to fit a ball in a tight window and is the only one using this trick, a complete UNLEVEL playing field. Also, the WELLS REPORT, shows talk like this, since 2007 ish.....yearly "TOM did i send you a balloon, yup, no autograph, Deflator, better next time...do not send a balloon...." and so on, yearly, weekly even....so, that is like a Pizza Hut saying that they do not sell Pizza despite years of "PIZZA" receipts. The texts show years of these types of texts.....so why can he not just serve 4 games ? NE has a decent running game, good defense, etc... trust your team and go for 2-2 and just deal with it, like Earl Morrall. then come in and aim for a 12-4 record, like last year's record. After flags being picked up for you, 2001, and all the lucky breaks, why would you want to reverse a simple 4 game suspension, and ask for so much special treatments. No one else cries and appeals 4 times. Just deal with it like an injury and trust your team.... Also, the timing from the secondary and punt returns are all askew, all players play with std. balls, and trust them. So vs. N.E. your timing speed etc... is all off.....like the muffed INDY punt, or CB anticipations...all timings are off, and all level playing fields compared to the rest of the league are off....when you play Bill Belly, you play a different speed of football..... I like Florida Football and the J.J. and old school Allman Bros. and Skynyrd, and a lot of Florida culture and music,Leftwich, Marino, Jameis W. etc.....go Blake Bortles......
from same poster, if this was an olympic shot put competition, Brady would be expelled. why should it make a difference just because distance and speed are not the intent ? The cheating is just as bad because timing (advantage)and DB anticipation (disadvantage)is completely thrown off and also is apart from all the other teams and QB's and has been for years.........3 more approved after this......stir it up sonny......
Lol. Thats rich. He became unpopular after he excoriated them for the 16 psi ball. The idea tgat you would think it was the ballboys talks to your credibility.

last post, cause of what Pat's did to Leftwich years ago.......also, why would he even bother, to deflate, it obviously means something to him, or he would not do so, regularly......no other QB in the history of the game has even tried this, yet this is his trait. If they say....it means nothing......then why even bother.....on a reg. basis, for years, also Spy Gate....... go to a bag of tricks cause it works,,,,so is this a necessity for succesfull QB'ing for TB.....? i would not use a trick, unless i needed to.......
let us face it...the PATS need chicanery to play, also they use weird sets, like OL lined up as a decoy receiver.....or hurry up offense every time they hit the opp. 45 yard line the minute they see a lean towards substitution from the opp. D feet.......they are not the 85 BEARS or 86 GIANTS, nor LOMBARDI, they are too slick.....
Soooo, is it true that the league office edited the Wells Report before it was released?

I suppose the Martin investigation was a witch hunt? Or was that one legit because people's feelings got hurt? I'd be OK if the whole team had to sit 16 games. That's not bias. It's 0 tolerance for those who think they are above the rules. To the point of laughing it all off and wasting tax payers money by whining and crying in court. To be perfectly clear, again, I am not a fan of Goodell and I feel he has over reached his power many times. I think the NFL rules on certain circumstances are stupid. But then again, I think if a pot head cant stay clean for a million dollars he deserves to be kicked out of the game. If someone is so greedy that they want to win a game so much that they cheat, lie, and cover up to do so, well that is just sickening. A lot of guys try to win clean. No PEDS. No PSIs. No head hunting. Just line up and play. Cheaters make me sick. Those people who lie about injury reports, or sneakily fancy up a ball to their liking, are the worst cheaters. Bottom feeder cheating. They are like the bad guy in the old cartoon tying the lady up to the train tracks, curling their devious mustache. If the clots cheated, suspend them too. Witch hunt? Ha. You and every Boston boy must think so. While the majority of the nation believes Tom had a hand in some wrong doing. At this point it is a very prideful Brady who will never admit anything (by accepting a punishment of ANY days) And the league (Goodell) is going to stand strong that his punishment fits Bradys crime (conduct detrimental to the league) Which is a broad stroke... likely done on purpose, and possible missed by the NFLPA. I suppose the new CBA will have a much clear definition of such. But for now. it is law. Brady isn't above that law any more than Blackmon, Ace, Greg Hardy, AP, Ray Rice, or any one who has been hit with the hammer on their laws.
The colts did cheat. They were proven in violation of the same rule that the pats supposedly broke. Did you hear about it. wast there a confiscation of peoples private devices? no. 25k fine. the vikings and i believe the chargers same thing.
When you say the whole team should sit 16 games that shows that you aren't playing with full objectivity. That's the equivalent of saying someone should get 5 years in jail for going 66 in a 65 when the speed gun wasn't working in the first place. Not to mention the fact that to make your argument you just threw aside the entire concept of sexual harassment and treating women with dignity and respect or providing a safe working environment for the what 1500 cheerleaders across the league. That's not important, its a proposed .5 psi variation that no one can verify because there is absolutely no evidence of what the pre-game PSI was indexed to the surface temperature of the ball. nice to know where your priorities are. back to "if you think it was the ball boy, that speaks to your credibiltiy.." not sure of your stance, words are short, but if you are saying that a cheating system did not exist in NE you are not correct. The Wells report shows that TB was paying the whole network of ballboys and equipment staff autographed shoes and all sorts of sports memorabilia to deflate the balls, obviously TB cannnot be on the sideline or be the actual "DEFLATOR" of every ball. Then the kids were selling all the autographs and sneakers, etc... to the outside.....to make cash......something in TB's mind or FB stategy, or somewhere, he picked up that deflating footballs helped his game and he made this a system and priority...and even on TV he said " yeah, I prefer a deflated ball," before, in an irrelevant side remark. before it was relevant.
probably a trick he picked up from MONTANA, the 'geeky champion' he imitated.
Aaron rodgers has said the same if not worse about over inflated balls. Wheres the 7 mill investigation.
When u go out to eat do u tip ur waiter? Is that because u want him to steal an extra steak or to thank him for his service? |
