Quote:Roy Miller looked good on that play.  I feel more confident in him now.  But Bowanko, OTOH...

Eh, IMO that matchup would rarely happen in a real game. Bowanko doesn't have the frame to handle Miller 1v1 like that.

Quote:So Blake nor putting back to back good practices together

He also just said he owned the last drill.

People want to analyze practice way too much.  Many practices are meant to put players in tough circumstances.  They don't always work out and look perfect.

This over analyzing is crazy.

Quote:Ha! Blake heard someone was talking trash!

On a serious note, it's awesome to hear he's excelling so well on red zone work. We were pretty decent between the 20s last year but always stalled. Maybe we'll finish some drives with tds instead of settling for fgs this year!

Personally, I think our corners are shaping up into a really good unit. So playing well against them in practice can only mean good things for Bortles.

As someone who likes to analyze the practices I see, you are absolutely right.

But it is football talk and I am a fan and that's what I do.  Can't help it.

I love the game.  I love this team.

I'm ok with analyzing things, but too many people on this board go overboard.  One bad practice, even play for some, and its doom and gloom or we should cut a player.

I'm enjoying the process of what Dave has compiled on this team....for once, I feel the team is getting better and its not false hope with someone like Shack or Gene.

EXPECT (as in belief you should win), not presume. I got ya, we are still forming a true team, caution should be exercised. But we have to start feeling like we belong again, to belong.

I think the problem is being knee jerk/reactionary in the analysis, not necessarily the analysis itself.

I like what I have seen Dave do with this roster, and there is a long way to go before the final 53 are established.

I think we're getting there.  I do.

But for many, we have to see the tangible on field signs first.

As promising as this nucleus appears to be, there were times last year that we looked awful (that first half of the Giants game for instance).

With all of the youth, that sort of performance was to be expected from time to time, especially with the overall talent deficiencies on the team.

But we've got to see it on the field.  Remember, there was once talk that Gabbert was improving from year one to year two.

It is still early and my expectations are reasonable, but things just feel different this year compared to last. Lots of plays are being made on both sides of the ball.

Yes and I do remember that like it was yesterday. For me, it is what we are seeing from the whole team so far.

It seems that every time I hear about a good offensive play it involves Hurns, I wouldnt be suprised if him and Robinson broke 1k yards this year.

He has. He knows he has a chance to 'seal' a job and he's rolling with it. Lee is now beneath him depth wise and has to show enough to start taking snaps away from him in 2 wide sets.

.I have been tempering my praise for Hurns because I felt he had an advantage over the other receivers who didn't have exposure and knowledge of the offense the way he did.

However, thus far, he is continuing to impress and produce in a brand new offense.

That lets me know he is bright enough to learn the offense, works hard enough to learn it, has Bortles' confidence and the talent to exploit all of those things and produce on the field.

It looks like he may contend for a thousand yards receiving if he can stay healthy.

I hope he does.
