I think this is sooo overblown about Hurns. He body catches at times, but I've seen him snag plenty of footballs with his hands, especially in college.

The main concern is not him attempting to catch footballs with his hands, it's actually catching them, and he had an undeniable issue with that last year.

Question:  I'm picking at nits here, but don't you wish that BB5 lead Greene just a little bit more?  The pass was quick and pretty much on target, but just a bit behind Greene...  Again, picking at nits.  I'm bored and just looking for things to either get excited about or to temper my enthusiasm.

No problem Anchorman. The new reporter Mike Kaye is a Vine-posting animal. Already might be my favorite beat guy - not a tremendous feat I know.


I'm sure you're right on your analysis of that pass but interestingly, throwing it that way allowed Greene to square his back to the defense a bit.

I think I'm in the minority in that I'm not overly concerned about Joeckel. He did a lot of good stuff last season but did have moments where he was overpowered and made young mistakes (hand placement/bad exchanges with guard). From everything I've read he's bigger and stronger and I think Marrone is going to be very influential on Joekel.

Basically I'm not going to press the panic button until he looks bad in games.

That was definitely visible while watching the All-22. There were plenty of times where he didn't lean/lunge and got his hands in the DL's chest first and completely stone walled guys. He just has to have more of those this year. He's very athletic and I'm expecting that additional weight/strength to help him tremendously.
