Went back and watched the video of Davon House and Martvais Bryant. It looks like House got jammed within 5 yards of LOS, and lost his balance. To his credit, he never went all the way down. And I don't see where he held Bryant. It probably looked like it to the ref, after the contact by Bryant, and House stumbling. Feel a little better about now, knowing that it simply wasn't a matter of getting out-ran.

Who can tell me more about Rashad Greene Achillies injury?

Went to the game and even though preseason the crowd got pretty fired up, especially towards the last where the squealers just weren't going to give up.

You know what? The Jags weren't giving up either.

That's pretty important .........this sure looks like a different team.

I'll leave all the in depth "analysis" to others.....I like what I see and feel.

Let it go people. Players get hurt in football. Whether the throws are good or bad or on time or late

Stop nitpicking over one play. Blake had a very good first game and although the offense struggled to start they had some good drives later on.

I'm impressed.

The board is in mid-season complaint form, yet we've only had one preseason game.

Whether we're good or bad, we're in for a long, long season regardless.

Quote:Davon House smoked by Martavis Bryant for a TD. A sign of things to come?

He wasn't smoked, he fell.

Quote:1.  The most important critique I have was Bortles' dive at the pylon.  I cannot emphasize how ill-considered that appears to me.  BB is FAR to important to this team to take that kind of risk.  He very easily could have been injured.  Save that move for a game where it's the difference between a playoff spot (or win).  Very bad judgement..  Other than that, I loved what I saw from BB.

What I find funny is if he had simply run out of bounds on 4th and goal, you'd be complaining he just ran out of bounds. Had he thrown it into the end zone despite nobody being open, you'd complain he didn't run.

He fell because he failed to get effective press due to getting outmuscled by a big receiver in Bryant. That's the reality, but believe what you want.

Pretty much. People acting like he fell because his cleats don't work.

I understand saying, "it's just one play" but people seem to be going out of their way to distort reality. The man got beat. It happens. He didn't trip over a rock.

If he just fell for no reason, then why was he complaining to ref about getting pushed? Because he got pushed off within five yard area.

Bryant got the better House on the jam and he had to put a hand on the ground to right himself.

Discouraging, but something he can hopefully learn from when facing larger receivers.  (Bryant is 6'5" - 202 -  House 6'0" 195)

I'll be reserving judgement until at least week 4 of the regular season.  One failed attempt to jam a bigger receiver isn't likely to define his trajectory of production as a Jaguar.

Yup.  He slipped.  It happens.

Nothing worth wasting time worrying about.

Martavis Bryant might be the most athletic receiver in the game given his size, he gets from 0-60 in no time and has crazy long speed. If he keeps developing look out, that guy has the ability to be a dominant receiver.

Arrelious Benn was finishing blocks out there laying out to hit guys in the screen/run game. This guy wants to make an impact. I also noticed that Rashad Greene needs ball security. He was asking to fumble on the nice punt return he had holding the ball away from his body... I would probably have feinted if he got stripped in a real game on a return like that. We look a lot more physical in the running game. Everyone is getting good push and good effort to every play even if it's just a yard or two it wears on the defense and we were grinding out what looked like easy 5 yard runs after that. Bortles threw some beautiful passes all game. He missed slightly high on some but they were still catchable. He is going to turn heads this year if we can be balanced and protect him.

No pain, no gain.

Watching again...

First drive:

Cyp tackles Skuta on long run

Cyp allows reciever to get in front of him on two point conversion. To his credit, on this play the reciever had way too long to run around.

To say Andre Branch is ineffective would be polite. He is okay in run, but absolutely miserable at rushing the passer. I actually feel embarrassed for him watching him run around hopelessly.

Parnell is a big strong dude. Get ready for runs off the right side of the line this year.

Linder is a really good player. Always in control. Always engaged with a defender. And appears to get under the skin of defenders. Good.

Right side of the line.

Bortles is doing a great job stepping up in the pocket. Last year he would spin move and escape the pocket laterally. This year it appears he has a really good feel in the pocket.

Remember last year when we had to "manafacture a pass rush"?...get used to it. That looks to be the MO again this year. We don't have anyone that can consistently pressure the QB.
