Might the Jags Have Interest in Kam Chancellor?

#1

Given the apparent impasse between Kam Chancellor and the Seattle Seahawks, might the Seahawks have any interest in trading Cahncellor? If so might they accept a trade for Johanthan Cyprien straight up for Chancellor? Would the Jags have any interest in such a trade?

Thoughts?

Cyp straight up for Kam?

No way Seattle does that. They would want a high draft pick as well.

I just googled "Gene Smith GM Seattle Seahawks" and didn't get any hits so there is a 0% chance that would happen.

Straight up?

3-time pro bowl, 2-time second team all pro, twice top #100 safety for a steady but unspectacular safety...

Not happening. We'd have to throw a pick (or picks) their way, or maybe another player of value (eg Beadles if there is no desire to keep him).

How long did Kam play for Gus?

I'd give up Cyp and a second round pick for him. He's the best in-the-box safety in the NFL.

If the rumors of sliding Wiz to LG are true, how about Cyp and Beadles for Kam?

None of these are going to happen, but it's fun to speculate

Seattle won't do it w/o a high draft pick attached to the deal as well. Nice to dream though.

I like Eric Berry more, if he somehow hits free agency or is even hinted that he's on the market I'd be all over that.

Sergio Brown for Earl Thomas while we are at it.

We could sign their GM as well because he'd be fired a short time after making that deal.

Let's trade our 53 for their 53? Maybe throw in a late round pick to sweeten the deal? Instant Super Bowl contenders!

We would have to give up the farm to land Chancellor. Not worth it for a SS

Not that I think Seattle's going to trade Chancellor but you guys are missing the point.  Sometimes teams trade players away they're unable to sign long-term and try to get something in return, even if it's an unbalanced trade.  Seattle's already given big contracts to Sherman, Thomas and RW.  There's only so much money to go around.

If 27 year old, 6'3, 235 lb, 4.43 running Kam Chancellor was in the draft, he'd be a top 10 pick.

Please... Keep that in mind when discussing trade scenarios.

I agree.  If the guy is going to hold out or wanting money they can't afford sometimes a team will take less just to move on from that guy and get anything in return.

It happens more in basketball than any other sport, but I can see it happening in the NFL at times.

We could throw in Gratz, Beadles, & M. Lee and even give them the rights to J. Blackmon. :ermm:

He would garner a first rounder. So no.

Cyprien ain't worth a 7th rounder.
