Fan Survey: Two years in, do you feel like Gus Bradley is leading this team in the right direction?
|
Quote:People forget as the Seattle DC he was 24th place & then 27th place in 2009 & 2010, but in 2011 7th & 2012 the Defense was first place. Our defense was ranked around 10th in the league statistically the last 2/3rds of last season. We got so whipped the first 4 games or so that it skewed the numbers to look much worse. I'm expecting a major jump in our defensive ranking this season since I don't expect to get blown out early again.

Quote:Take out Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and those are .500 ish teams. Tebow won a playoff game with the Broncos. Quote:Take out Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and those are .500 ish teams. Significant players do make a difference. And you missed the point. This is just another thread targeting Gus as the next scapegoat for this wretched fan base to complain and blame for not winning. Fact is, it takes a perfect storm to win it all. An HC is just ONE part of the equation. Yet everyone here wants a new OC, new HC, new GM, new QB EVERY YEAR Until it magically just buys us a SB trophy. Ridiculous. Pitchforks at the ready, always. Trust the process. Gus is finally getting some talent to work with. His coaching style is perfect for today's game, IMO. This rebuild has been done the correct way, no shortcuts. The players have bought in, big-time. Everything they accomplish is earned. This mentality is perfect for long-term success. They will build off each other and succeed together. It's a family raised the right way.
I think it has more to do with the GM than gus but we are clearly finally moving in the right direction. Gus will hopefully get better as a coach and maybe learn to step in after 5 weeks of running Gerhart wide and either bench clearly injured players or tell his OC what to do instead of just rolling with garbage for a year and firing him at the end. I dont like that he played Bortles who he said had a worn out arm either. I remember game management issues as well. Like the rest of the team though, I expect him to improve. I think he is a good motivator but not as good with the technical aspects.

I voted yes, but it's tough to know for sure. After this season we'll have a better idea. That said, six wins and Gus is safe.

The last two years, we started the first eight games looking awful, but ended very strong.
I want to see Gus have this team eating nails starting week one. I'm not saying we have to go 8-0 to start the season, but if we're 0-4 come October I will be extremely not enthused and very unflattering with my comments. Quote:The last two years, we started the first eight games looking awful, but ended very strong. I can agree with this. Actually the past to years we started the first game relatively well then fell off till late season. We need to take advantage of the injuries to our early opponents and come away with some wins. I feel like we will.

What I'm trying to say is its not a do or die year, its a getting better year.
I think ownership understands that. Everyone in the organization is leading by example. As fans we should show their patience and support as well. Go to the games, yell your butt off and give the opponents grief. MOVE' DEM CHAINZ! Sorry guys changed browser to chrome and stuff still doesn't work.
Because Jaguars is our mantra

Quote:Did Gus Bradley himself write this? No... "MOVE DEM CHAINS" would have been, "WE WANT SPRINKLES" ... Which is good,'cause sprinkles are for winners ! ![]()
Still scratching my head on anyone who says yes. The enthusiasm is there but the results are lacking. At best it's an I for incomplete. If the grade was now it would have to be no. Yes I understand all the turnaround but it would e hard to do a worse job at this point. Near last in defense and offense.
This year will be his final exam so to speak. ![]() Quote:No... "MOVE DEM CHAINS" would have been, "WE WANT SPRINKLES" ... But if you can look beyond that to see the progress that's occurring, you'll feel a lot better about the immediate future.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
Check out the Jag's Forum Alternative: Duval Football Fans. Quote: But if you can look beyond that to see the progress that's occurring, you'll feel a lot better about the immediate future. It's makes everyone feel good to to say progress is occurring, but there comes a point in time when progress has to be measured in W's and L's.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
Quote:I get what you're saying if you're only looking at the immediate past. But if you can look beyond that to see the progress that's occurring, you'll feel a lot better about the immediate future. Last year at this time people were saying that they expected improvement in 2014 and the Jags to at least be competing for a playoff slot late in 2015. Now I'm hearing six wins are OK as long as the Jags show "progress." The evolution of expectations is NOT showing progress.
