If the goal is always to protect the shield, he's doing a lousy job right now. We can only hope so, for the good of the league. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/25512...-our-sport This process has hurt Tom, it's hurt Roger and it's hurt the NFL. "This entire episode is embarrassing our sport. It makes us look horrible. Think about how long this has gone on. This shouldn't happen." The only way he gets any punishment at all, is if the NFL (Goodell specifically) comes to it's senses. Otherwise, the judge is just going to laugh Goodell off and toss the garbage out. They want an admission to something they failed to prove. A child throwing a fit until it gets what he wants.

this is an alleged violation with no real precedence, and by NFL standards.....not that bad........strip the SEAHAWKS, most steroids, strip the SAINTS, bountygate. BRADY should be informed, as well as the rest of the NFL teams, and NFL should control all of these variables......if you compare this to 1970's football, or other teams infractions, this is nothing....players used to report fake injuries to wear a cast on arms, and then use them as football weapons......the first infraction of a never before heard of rule should not be purported as a true violation, especially when the whole NFL, the whole sports world really, is free to tinker in some fashion to gain an edge.....cleats, swimmers' body suits, lightweight pads, boxers' put vasoline on nose even when there is no cut-so glove glances off, or a tennis racquet shock absorber spongeball in the strings...etc...... you get the point. Make and enforce new rules, but do not cry murder when other teams cheat worse anyway.....playing field is level cause they all cheat.......RAIDER STICKUM.........

I think he knows its crap but the law has tied his hands. Brady is being punished for others behavior. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I think he knows its crap but the law has tied his hands. Brady is being punished for others behavior.Judges do not want to get in the habit of overturning arbitration. They don't want people to think the grievance process is meaningless and that they can just push all their disputes to court. If Goodell is acting within the authority set up by the CBA and the judge circumvents that authority, he is basically null and voiding the arbitration process and setting the precedence where grieving becomes the responsibility of the court. Judges aren't paid by the hour and have zero interest in taking on additional responsibility of someone's CBA. Like you are saying, personal beliefs aside, the judge may have no choice but to make his ruling solely based on whether or not Goodell is acting outside of the powers given to him in the CBA. The judge may prefer a compromise, but when it comes down to it, Brady may not have a legal leg to stand on. Quote:They want an admission to something they failed to prove. A child throwing a fit until it gets what he wants.1. They don't have to prove it. That's the way it is. 2. There's a hell of a lot of evidence. Every time Patriots fans bring this up they're very much into the details of how you measure the deflation of footballs, but very quiet on the incriminating deleted texts and Brady's subsequent highly suspicious behaviour. Because not even Patriots fans believe that 'the Deflator' got his name by losing weight.
Quote:1. They don't have to prove it. That's the way it is. Yep. And they fired the guy. There's no reason to do that if he was innocent
Quote:Yep. And they fired the guy. There's no reason to do that if he was innocent There's also no reason for Brady to say he's willing to take a suspension under certain circumstances if he's fully innocent as well. This whole thing is a joke and never should have went to court. Sit your 4 games and move on.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Sorry if you disagree, but the truth is they never found proof of Brady being a part or knowing about it. The report says just that, and the NFL is demanding he acknowledge that. There's their problem. You can't punish someone for something he didn't do. Also, he cooperated by giving all the contacts he had in the destroyed phone. The NFL chose not to investigate further and follow up on that information. Like it or not (or believe it or not,) his excuse is plausible.

Quote:There's also no reason for Brady to say he's willing to take a suspension under certain circumstances if he's fully innocent as well. The problem is, with no proof of who did what, the most they could do even with their broad authority was to penalize the team. Had the NFL stuck to that, it would be over already. But with Goodell, it's personal, and ego driven. Hubris is he downfall of folks like Goodell every single time.

The deflation thing is basically done. They are in court to challenge Goodell's punishment. Basically saying that the punishment handed out is too much, and double that because the evidence is "perhaps, maybe, generally aware, screw science". You can say he should just take a fine or 1 game due to destroying his cell phone , but even then he was never made aware that doing so would result in the punishment.
Also, there is NO WAY they will come to a settlement in which the NFL agrees to say Brady was innocent of the entire deflategate matter. That would basically destroy the Wells report. So all that time, money, stupidity was for nothing. No way they would agree to that.
Quote:You have no evidence to support your assertion. Neither does Goodell, thats why he's gonna lose. I think there's enough evidence to come to the conclusion that he had a hand in cheating... I'm interested in seeing how Brady performs this season... I wonder if we see a drop of on his performance...
Quote:I think there's enough evidence to come to the conclusion that he had a hand in cheating... I always laugh when people say there's no evidence against Brady. Society has been trending towards someone is only guilty if they are caught on video doing it. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way. I don't see how anyone that is non bias can not sit back and say there is some pretty interesting things that happened here and it points to cheating going on and a good way to conceal the truth. They obviously talked so they could get their stories straight. Quote:I think there's enough evidence to come to the conclusion that he had a hand in cheating... Sorry to disappoint, but the evidence simply isn't there. Facts are facts. Watch and see.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"The Brady case teaches us a lot about labor laws and how the NFL regards itself as above them. It’s about basic procedural fairness, whether Goodell has the right to inflict a vindictive and capricious punishment on Brady based on no evidence at all — it’s not even clear the game balls in the AFC championship game were deflated by a few whiffs of air — simply because he wants to prove he can make the league’s best quarterback kiss his ring." Couldn't have said it better myself. Yet, it precisely does reflect what some have been saying for a while now.
