Wiz Wins Starting Job

"Hey Wiz you won the starting job!"
Haha right. Must have been the fumble recovery and few yard gain he had.

I think Wiz won based on his experience. I think it's important for a young QB to have a veteran center, atleast initially. Later on this season when we are knocked out of the playoff hunt, I could see them plugging Bowanko in

We win either way. We're going to get 110% out of wiz due to his contract and now we have a quality back up in case of injury.

Having real competition at any position is a good problem to have.  Having someone with enough talent to possibly back up along the entire OL is just a bonus.

I thought the starting oline looked a little better with wiz.

The second string line though, looked a lot better with wiz.

But given the depth at T, not so much on second thought.

It could also really help the numbers game on game day if Bowanko can be a utility player.

Edit: a word.

He looked good the other night.  His experience is also a plus

The line did look just a tad better with him starting.

If Bowanko proves out as tackle depth, would that amount to writing on the wall for Pasztor?

Likely. If Bowanko can fill in at tackle, then either Pasztor or Wells would probably be shown the door.

Quote:I like it. If only for the experience with the system. Having a solid veteran center will only help Bortles. I'm sure he can understand a defense better than Bo at this point. No more Blake and Luke wondering what's happening!
This.  I like the experience factor especially since we are so young everywhere else.  Bo will get plenty of playing time.

The Jaguars are gonna win 5 games this year and Gus Bradley will get a contract extension!

Luke was drafted as a project and played too early as a rookie. He's gotten bigger and stronger and has improved this offseason, but was edged out by the vet.

Bowanko still has a bright future because he may end up being our center of the future anyway.

Such a better spot to be at this year than last. Congrats to Wiz. Look forward to Bo doing work and to be a starter in the future.

I still have a hard time parting ways with a kid that's only 24 and has promise.

I'd think Wells would be the odd man out.

Its great to have good depth at Center!  If only that was the case for every position on the team.

Wells is also 24 and appears to have even more promise as a LT.

So what? Gus said they'll cast it up and he should be fine.
