OTOH, I've never lived on the beach but have had 2 friends who did and after a year they hated it. Said you can't really sit out on the porch or leave the windows open to feel the sea breeze because of the sand intrusion. They also said the non-stop continuous wind gets annoying after a while.

In Duval County, the property appraisers site will give you the address of anyone that owns property in the county. It's not a top secret, can't find out without an inside source kind of thing.

It's already publicly available, though. I get what you're saying, but I guess I don't see the harm in posting something that a crazy stalker wouldn't know how to find anyway.

It's not just your car and truck. It's electronics and appliances as well. My mother has lived in beachfront condos on and off for well over a decade, and she went through TVs every three years or so because the moist, salty air corroded the circuits.

 

I live in a nice, quiet rural area, and could personally never give up that atmosphere anymore.

 

Well, aside from the fact that I'm giving it up at the end of September to move out, but the spike in home values here since we moved in, plus a job that came up in a different part of the country, make it all but impossible to pass up on the opportunity to sell.

If I were his financial advisor, I'd have suggested he buy a $500k-750k condo on the beach instead, then save the big, multi-million dollar house for when he proves he's a top-ten QB and gets that huge second contract. Safer bet in terms of making the money he earns now last him for the rest of his life.

My personal opinion, it's a nice house but I am not fond of the location.  However, that's just me.  Put that house in say Clay county and I would bet that the price is easily half if not less.

 

Also, just my opinion, I really wouldn't care to own such a house.  The wine cellar is pretty cool, but other than that, I can't say that it would be something that I would want to buy.

Well in my opinion, it's not a huge house at 2500 square feet.  It's a 3 bedroom 3 bath home with some nice touches, but nothing that I would call beyond modest.  It sits on less than 1/4 acre which is around the "average" size residential plot of land.

 

What drives the cost of the home up is certainly the location (beach front).

 

Take a look at one of the other homes featured on that page.  There is a home located in Ponte Vedra that is bigger (almost 3200 square feet) and is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home that is selling for less than half the price.

 

I certainly would call either home modest when compared to other homes that some players have bought.

Well, that's what that location will get you and to me, it's plenty big and I think beautiful! Yes, if he lived in Green Cove Springs he would have an over the top gold encrusted staircase with a bowling alley on the 4th floor, but Blake is a Florida boy and of course beach front is not modest no matter how you slice it...... I'm not even a beach lover, btw
