If you think Manziel is a system QB just look at Case Keenum

How does Manziel have a weak arm, he practically flicks every pass, strongest arm in the class.

You went way too far there lol. He doesn't have a weak arm...but it's not even close to the same level as Mettenberger or Carr.

Agreed. Dude can play the only thing to worry about is if his head is on straight.

Quote:Was he handed the keys to a team like the Texans? People were picking them to win a Superbowl before the season started.

He was handed the keys to the Texans as an UNDRAFTED QB. You act like the odds werent completely stacked against him.

Quote:The poster wasnt comparison their playing style.  The poster was saying that just because a guy plays for a system doesnt mean they are by definition a system QB.

Texas Tech WRs put up huge numbers under Mike Leach.  You could have said they were system WRs.   But that didnt stop Wes Welker, Danny Amendola, or Michael Crabtree from becoming NFL players.

That's why you look at traits that could transition to the next level, not system/who they played for in college. And honestly, Crabtree doesn't belong in those that you mentioned since pretty much everyone expected him to be an elite-level WR in the NFL(and honestly, he was pretty much the anti-thesis of the type of WR that's featured in Leach's system).

No he doesn't.. his passes float in the air and he certainly does not have the strongest arm in his class, LOL

Anyways.. Case had another great game.. which the fat kicker and STs cost us again... not to mention the right side of the line (Derek Newton..yet he was handed a team like the Texans)

What I meant was he has a stronger arm than Teddy B.

Dont be ridiculous. I am most likely the biggest Manziel fan on the board but his arm strength and height are his two negatives.  He more than makes up with it with his intangibles and play making ability that Teddy Bridgewater lacks.

Manziel 2014!

Manziel is too much boom or bust..  I'd take... at least 4 M Quarterbacks before Manziel.  Mariota, Mettenberger, Murray, McCarron.  And that's just a single letter.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Bridgewater doesn't like to use his legs, prefers to keep his eyes downfield and throws, no play making ability

Bridgewater does not toss it up to soft handed, physical 6'5 230lb receiver, no play making ability

Bridgewater is not a play maker, he just prefers to goes through his reads and take what defense gives him, ala Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers

Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers aren't playmakers either, just scrubs on good teams

Are you sure you are talking about Manziel or your previous obsession?

Bridgewater can't scramble for negative 30 yards in a Tebowesque manner, break a tackle, do a 360, lob a pass into quadruple coverage for a 60yd bomb (30 net). Only Manziel

Bridgewater is no playmaker, at least according to Mittens

JM won the heisman largely without Evans. Kudos for the RS sophomore recognizing the talent and exploiting it.

Evans had 1105 yds last year, categorically false. When you have a threat like evans, your whole defensive game plan goes out the window, you have to double even trip him taking guys out of the box, allowing Mr. Manziel to do work, players attempt to come up and stop manziel from running, allowing Johnny to toss it up to Evans

You would be an absolute moron of a qb not to throw it up to evans

I've been very critical of Manziel, but I'd take him in a heartbeat over Murray.

I don't think Manziel is just as sytem QB. His skill set is one that can dominate at the college level against inferior talent that is limited to practicing 20 hours a week. However, I don't believe his skill set is one that will translate to the NFL either. late 2nd/early 3rd round grade to me, but I believe someone will take him in the 1st round maybe even high in the 1st round.

Is he back to being a system quarterback yet?
