The Great, Big Joeckel Thread (merged threads)

Quote:Gotta look to the trade wire to see if there's someone that can come in at LT and at least be serviceable. You can't have Joeckel out there getting Bortles killed.

He keeps up the level of play we'll be lucky if Bortles makes it to week 6 without injury

I've heard a few times that they want to try Bowanko at OT. They seem to really like him, and don't really want his talent on the bench.

I heard Bradley talking about him having the ability to play OT. Bradley said something like, "you think right, but he is athletic enough even to play left."

What are the chances Bowanko ends up at LT later this season? Barring injury to Joeckel, maybe next year is more likely.

Joeckel's technique and power are terrible....a bad combination for a left tackle protecting a young QB.  Bowanko is not the answer.  I hope the young magician Caldwell is able to pull a LT out of his hat.

But Sexton said he was the most athletic and skilled lineman we have...barf

Maybe we can trade Branch for a steroid shot to give to the Joke.

How could the brass have missed so badly in this guy? I know the draft was bad, but dang. I wonder how Jordan would have worked in Gus' defense.

How many sacks would Joeckel had given up last night if Gabbert was qb instead of Bortles? lets put the over/under at 4

I really think it was the draft. Fischer sucks, Luke no comment, Dion Jordan bust. It's like the "athletic " specimens fooled the football world.

Makes me wonder if they will declare the 2013 draft the worst ever.

Ezekiel (Ziggy) Ansah not Dion Jordan

Yep. Just a tough pill to swallow when you have a high pick in a draft with no talent.

Well Jordan is suspended for 1 year.

I meant more from a standpoint if things would have been different at the time, not present day.

The coaches and GM need to be scouring the wire for a LT starting Sept 1.

If you are seeing a LT on waivers, you are in deep trouble.

Yeah  -- Joeckel just has to get better. There's no help on the way... this year anyway. I'm beginning to think they might have to do something in the offseason with that remaining carryover cap space.  Hope the kid finally gets in gear and proves me wrong.

Can we go back and take Lane Johnson? I think we've almost seen enough of Joeckel to know what we have at this point.

I'd rather not have a busted roid head. Ansah is the best player from the top end of that draft.

Did he play last night?  I did not hear his name once.
