Bring on Carolina. The real season is finally upon us

Quote:Roman Harper is our worst player in the secondary. Seriously....just stop.

Really?  Hmm, so is that why he was the only one not replaced at some point last year?  Maybe you're right though, let's look at the other guys.  Charles Tillman.  I remember him, my brother is a Bears fan and he says he was a good player at one time but is about as old as Harper and hasn't been able to stay on the field lately.  His wheels are suspect.  Then you got Norman and Boston, two young guys who have 4 INTs in 4 years between the two of them.  Wow, I bet Bortles will make sure to stay away from those two.

Honestly, the Panthers should be happy to get to 5 wins this year.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

5 wins? That's not bad at all. Considering they lost their best play-maker on offense as well. That's only 2 less from last years record, so its not that big of a deal.

Quote:Newton and Olsen are top 5 starts in fantasy football week 1 according to NFL Network. Then again, they have Julius Thomas as the #6 TE to start..

NFL Network might want to re-think where they have Julius considering he won't be playing.

Quote:Maybe. They definitely didn't have a great run defense last year and didn't do anything to make this area a sudden strength. This year from what I understand they will be playing a couple of rookies in their secondary. This may be a favorable match up for us in terms of how Blake is playing. Assuming we can have some success running the ball (which I think is very possible), that will open up opportunities for Hurns, Robinson, and Harbor. Newton is a tad over rated but he can be productive if he gets time and I'm assuming he'll get that against us. I expect this to be something along the line of 27-24 Jaguars.
Wasn't Lotulei out for an extended period of time last season?

I believe so.  I think they need him healthy to have a shot to improve their run defense but he's been gimpy all training camp.  I guess we'll find out what condition he's in next Sunday.

I'm thinking it'll be more of a 17-14 affair. Maybe 21-17. I like what I've seen in preseason on offense, but we have averaged 15 points a game for the past 3 years or so. 27 would be unexpected.

And still more than you guys had last year. Wow....

Quote:I'm with you here. I checked out Kuechly's stats for the preseason. He had a total of four tackles the first two weeks and hasn't played the last two. This tells me he's hardly played at all and that...unless he's hurt and I just don't know it...the Panthers run D stats are totally misleading.

He and Thomas Davis played very little, 75% of our starting DL didn't play at all.

I'll take it. Not too shabby for our home opener.

Quote:I'm going to repeat this. Panthers will have less wins this season. 6-10 or worse, they're on the downswing and a very run of the mill organization. I feel we also have the element of surprise with the emergence of our offense, and the fact every team will be sleeping on us. It won't be easy but it should be an expected win for us. The only way we lose is if Myers botches a FG resulting in Khan releasing Caldwell the next day

This is truly entertaining. Jax calling another organization "run of the mill." It's ok, I bet about 10% will stick with the team once they leave Florida.

Why do these clowns show up, and say how dominant their defense is. Did they recruit people from their board to troll?

This thread should have been closed right after these Losers hijacked it. 35-10 Jaguars. Cam Newton scores a garbage time TD and does his pathetic superman celebration at the end of regulation. Book it!

Then again you don't play the Colts or Texans twice a year... You play the Bucs, Saints and Falcons LOL.

Sounds pretty reasonable.  I think we'll continue to be the dogs until we prove otherwise.

I don't know if that is the most stupid comment of the year but it's gotta be one of the nominees.

This is shocking to me. I thought the Jags would be a 2 point favorite after KB went down. 3.5 is pretty high IMO.

Lol how is this shocking? We won 3 games last year. Our huge free agent signing isn't playing and our #1 pick is gone for the year. Our best d-lineman won't be playing.

BTW that thread was awful and explains a lot.
