The Jaguars have selected the team captains for this season.

 

Offense - Blake Bortles and Marcedes Lewis

Defense - Paul Posluszny

Special Teams - Bryan Anger

It says a lot that Bortles was voted captain his second year by te players. Was Blaine ever voted captain?

I think it's because of how Bortles took ownership of the offense during this offseason. The players see that and voted for him to be captain. I don't see any other explanations. I think it will be a exciting year for Bortles and the offense.

The QB should be named the captain, nothing newsworthy here.

 

A QB not earning the captaincy would be a much bigger deal.
