Morris signed to the Eagles. Wouldn't mind Cassell, Flynn or Ponder, granted the money wasn't too high. All were starting QB's at one time. I believe they all 3 are still available.

Unsure, maybe Pierce, Loutuleli, to be fair I know nothing of him, just based on his depth chart standing, and depth at the position. Have a couple spots left on the Practice Squad. I don't think the Jags need another active roster QB, just liked those 3 choices if the Jags decide on 3 active guys. With picking one of those guys, if Henne goes, you basically have similar depth at QB with one of them. If they want a 3rd QB just for the Practice Squad, I would probably just sign Tuel based on his familiarity.

Scratch Alex Tanney as a possible option as he was just signed to the Bills practice squad.


 

I believe Phillip Sims is in Oakland as we speak so we're still awaiting word on their decision. Meanwhile, his agent has since booked another workout for him with the Titans.


 

After these two, practice squad qb options look really slim. Why not just sign Tuel?

It's merely an answer to the question as to who would you cut should the Jaguars sign a veteran backup qb. The answer in my mind is simple... that is, the current veteran backup. Who else?

I am beginning to think we will not sign a QB for the practice squad. Marshal who most likely will not be activated will handle this. The Jags had to keep Marshal on the active but he is not ready for game activity at CB. Makes a ton of since. Marshal will be worn out by the time the real games start because it looks like he is playing both sides of the ball during practice.

 

 

He will earn his keep and pay.

What is the advantage of filling them when you can snipe them from other teams? Can't the Jags pull from others teams PS without penalty?
