3rd qb

Is Tim Tebow eligilbe for the Practice Squad, because I thought the Jaguars only signed 8 when they can have up to 10.  My thought is Tim Tebow could learn with the Jaguars coaches to improve his throwing mechs and please fans by bringing in a local hero.  To me its simply a win, win.

The only problem is it might fuel those fans to scream to give him play time and cause a distraction on the team.

No, Tim has accrued three NFL seasons.

Totally. Tuel has yet to accrue an NFL season.

EDIT:  I was looking at it wrong. Tuel did accrue the 2013 season as he was on the Bills roster that entire season, however he is still eligible to be one of the two PS players allowed who can have up to two accrued seasons.

Maybe it's just time for people to accept that he's not ever going to be an NFL QB?

4 teams have tried to tell Tebow zombies this.  Chip Kelly flat out said in the media that Tim Tebow wasn't good enough to be their #3 QB.  Do you realize how bad that is? Still, the zombies won't relent in their desperate pursuit of a roster spot for their icon.  There are almost 1700 roster spots in the entire NFL, and Tebow isn't good enough to fill a single one of them.  It's time to let it go.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:I just don't like knowing that in the event our starting qb goes down, we're likely to lose out the remainder of the season, or how every many games Blake remains out. That said, Cassel was probably the last real shot at doing something about it. In a few days Sunday will be here and Henne's $2 mil base salary will be guaranteed.

I see your reading comprehension struggles are coming back to bite. I never said to cut the #2 qb in the event of an emergency. How in the world did you get that from what I typed? Simply put, had they replaced Henne with Cassel, for instance, they would still have a #2 qb on their roster. Regardless, the discussion about an emergency sitation relates to what happens when the qb and his backup both go down, and we've discussed how they'll give scout team reps to DRob and/or Marshall just in case.
Next year the QB situation will be addressed via draft. There's nobody available right now that would be considered an upgrade to Henne. No one.

If Bortles goes down its going to suck regardless of who's backing up. That applies for 95% of the league. Unless you have a top 5 defense and a top 5 rushing attack, if you loose your starting QB for an extended period of time your season is pretty much over.

Draft and develop is the way to go. Best case, Bortles pans out and the back up develops providing good insurance and is good enough to garner a decent return in a trade, worst case, he stinks and we keep looking towards the next draft.

Henne will be gone next year. Try to keep a level head until then.

According to Gus, they're exploring the options currently available for a 3rd QB. Until then DRob and Nick Marshall have been taking reps as the scout QB.

Stephen Morris > Tim Tebow

Chew on that for a minute or two.
