Another day, another Patriots controversy
|
Quote:Since when does anyone on this board believe anything ESPN says? I would take what they say with a grain of salt...they are pathetic in so many ways. Lol, this was a well written and investigated article. The ESPN channel mostly shows the same stuff over and over, but Outside the Lines and 30 for 30 have some pretty good content. I hear Morton's is getting really worried about the NFL's new venture into the spice business.
Quote:Since when does anyone on this board believe anything ESPN says? I would take what they say with a grain of salt...they are pathetic in so many ways. You have to look at the source. In this case it was Outside the Lines, an entity featuring actual journalism and journalists like Bob Ley, Jeremy Schaap and TJ Quinn. Don't confuse that with the typical ESPN crap. Like shock jocks Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless or bloviating ex-jocks like Cris Carter and Mark May.

It's only cheating if you get caught... or if they can somehow prove it.. or if the commissioner of the league doesn't destroy all video evidence.. or if a judge doesn't say there is reasonable doubt.
Only a chump boos the home team!
Quote:It's only cheating if you get caught... or if they can somehow prove it.. or if the commissioner of the league doesn't destroy all video evidence.. or if a judge doesn't say there is reasonable doubt. So if there is no absolute real 100% untampered with, video documented evidence of it, you must acquit? In that case, just deny, deny, deny and deny. It doesn't matter what anyone says, how many of them say it, or what it looks like, or even what has happened in the past. Just deny, deny, deny.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Anyone catch this from Bill Cowher?
<p style="margin-left:40px;">“We didn't lose the game because of any Spygate, because of them having any additional things,” Cowher said, referring to the 41-27 loss to New England that ended the Steelers' season following a 15-1 regular season. “I think if they're guilty of anything, they're guilty of arrogance because they were told not to do something. But it was something that everybody does.” Read more: http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/5423...z3lFrBkKRj Follow us: @triblive on Twitter | triblive on Facebook This would seem to be the tip of the iceberg. It would seem everyone does it (cheating to gain advantage in some form or another), but normally it's a topic that's taboo. It's only now when there's some internal strife that it begins to bubble to the surface and people start to talk. Quote:Anyone catch this from Bill Cowher? Well, I refuse to believe that our beloved 2-14, 4-12 and 3-13 Jaguars engage in this cheating behavior. I could be wrong, but I just refuse to believe it until shown absolute, positive proof.

ESPN needs to dig up some dirt on the tacks since we're airing dirty laundry. They cheated us in '99 and they know it.
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
Another telling quote from the article:
Quote:"...The shared view of Belichick and Adams, according to many who've worked with them, is this: The league is lazy and incompetent, so why not push every boundary? When the only true metric for people to use when determining how they are doing in regards to keeping their jobs is winning, then people are going to do any little thing that pops into their heads to do just that, and the consequences be damned. Heck, if they don't win they're gonna get fired anyway so why not make every effort towards that end? The League has set up a cutthroat business when it comes to Players, Coaches, and Front Office personnel and they do nothing to really police their activities and when they actually do something, they try and keep it hidden. And what's worse, I really don't think they perceive just how absurd the whole situation is.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
A former Patriot coach told me that Belichick could actually enter peoples dreams like inception and he would put bad gameplan into their subconscious.

Hmmm this makes me think....remember the playoff game when Leftwich was QB at Foxboro? There was a play when Byron threw an INT. I remember watching the replay of it at the time. I shook my head. Not because Byron made a bad throw, but because of how GREAT the play was. I thought, "well, nothing Byron could have done about it".
Why did I make that comment? Because, on that play, the Jaguars had the throw going to a receiver on some kind of out route. Watching the replay of that play, you see what Byron saw, and can only conclude...the guy was open. You make that conclusion because what you would have seen was the cornerback, turn his back completely and run with the outside WR upfield....leaving a space open where the Jaguar WR would have been a recipient of the pass. Except that's not what happened. Because the cornerback who was running upfield, his back completely turned away from Leftwich, suddenly stopped, turned, and stepped in front of the other receiver to intercept the ball. At the time, I thought...man, great recognition. Risky gamble, but great play knowing what we were going to run. Now? It makes me think...hhhmm?
would be interesting to watch all the New England playoff games on All22 looking specifically for plays that seem specifically "sniffed out" by the patriots defense.
Also makes you wonder how great a QB Brady is if he goes in knowing exact play calls and defense.

Quote:Also don't forget what Goodell said right after the initial Spygate "investigation" that the tapes didn't give the Cheatriots an advantage or influence the outcome of any game. If true, then why destroy them? Because later on he can make them say or show anything he wants and no one can prove otherwise. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Goodell destroyed 40 Patriot Spygate tapes that would have tainted 3 Super Bowls - "To protect the Shield". Were the Patriots grateful? Of course not. Belichick was ordered, as part of the punishment, to publicly apologize for his part in it. He did not appear in public, instead releasing a statement to the press and claimed that was good enough.

I can't believe anyone here would believe ESPN after all the rumors/lies they have spread about us 'relocating' over the years. Of course this story was no different. Too bad there's internet around to fact check ESPN. I stopped reading them years ago, and I would have thought all jags fans have by now. The link above shows that the statement hasn't changed at all. Another mudslinging attempt by the NFL using ESPN as its mouthpiece. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. Interesting take from San Diego:
