The Everett Golson Sweepstakes

Quote:You was was one of the little ringleaders who said Winston was overrated.

Now all of a sudden you want to double down and suggest the team may sink without him.

Overrated doesn't mean he wasn't good. He just wasn't the college QB god that everyone made him out to be.

I also elaborated that I don't think he will be good in the nfl either because of his questionable decision making, bad reads, and inconsistent accuracy.

Career 66% passer in college and he's got inconsistent accuracy.

Provide something that proves I'm wrong then. You probably can't, since you're just about useless.

I know you hate him, but you shouldn't let that get in the way of a discussion. He's gone now. He can't hurt you little brother fans anymore.

2. "Struggled with intermediate passing game in 2014, completing 56.8 percent of his passes with FBS-leading 11 interceptions in that range."  http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/j...id=2552485

He'd be the best QB that Florida has had in the last 6 years.

He is probably winning the Heisman. I saw some really great throws where he skipped it off the grass to a receiver. That takes talent.

That's what Heisman winners are made of.

Not sure if the problem is how Golson played or how bad the oline looked especially in the first half.  Does USF have any kind of decent D to explain it?

So funny to listen to the 4n8ers come talk trash about the best team in Florida's quarterback.

There were many teams who struggled this week.  Auburn should of lost to Jacksonville State and were 40 point favorites.  40 points!  Under Jimbo Fischer, we have been able to consistently adjust extremely well at the half.  Having said that, FSU has some serious concerns with the receiving core, o-line (pass protection), and Golson struggling with simple dump off passes among other things.  I couldn't see the whole field so I don't know if receivers are not getting open or if Golson is struggling to go through his progressions.  But he left a lot of yards on the field with low pass and not leading RB/WR on dump offs.  I don't think a 5th year senior should have a problem making those throws consistently.  Maybe a QB is off on one or two, but it was all game long.

He had enough time for some of the throws.  It is easy to criticize him for not getting the ball out, but maybe no one is open and he is making the smart play?  I don't know.

I think that the young man made the right decesion. Go to a talented team coached by a guy with a proven track record of developing QB's. Best of luck to all parties.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
