So I left Jax at 2:30am, had a drop off in Tally, Foley Alabama and Hattiesburg.. 16 hours on the road and logged 1050 miles today..

Got a new truck today! Well new to me, an 08 Tundra SR5 with the 5.7L, downside it's only RWD but it's got a 6" lift! I have to say I look rather sexy in it.....

Hell no! Dirt is the enemy man!


Once they're raisins (and in the bins) there isn't much that can happen with them, I stack the bins in the shade and let them cure for a week or two, then call my trucker to come get those bad boys. If you own a shaker, you can shake them too.


Early in the process, before they're fully raisined, dirt is a huge no-no, and will auto fail your load. Which is in the neighborhood of $20,000. No dirt! There are like a half dozen other things that you can fail for too that I'm aware of. Probably a few more that I'm not haha.


Green grapes we pick from sundown to sunrise. The truck driver will drop off 8 trailers for the night and as soon as you fill one he'll take it straight into the winery, and basically at that point you have a trailer ready every time he gets back so he'll make 8 loops straight.


Spoilage is definitely more of a concern with green grapes or golden raisins.

We just spent the last 20 hours watching our 7-month-old grandson.  I'm spent.  How did I have the energy to raise so many of my own?  I feel older than ever, and the next one is due in seven months.  

But soon, within a few short years, they will be old enough to engage Operation Sugar 'em Up and Send 'em Home. Then vengeance will be mine.  ALL MIIIINE. Mwahahaha.  MWAHAHAHAHAHA....

This next one will be from a different parent. My daughter-in-law has been wanting a child since my daughter gave birth. Especially since they work together. My son was happy with a dog and little responsibility. His halcyon days are coming to a close.
