Jags tried to sign Aldon Smith per report

Smith's talent on the field is trumpted by his decisions off the field. We need talented players but we don't need troubled/suspended players...

Quote:D6, he was stabbed by gang members at a party--at his own house. He walked into an airport security checkpoint and started telling screeners that he had a bomb because he wasn't happy with the process. He has a habit of getting liquored up then blasting down the freeway. He beat up his neighbor's car.

Tell me how this guy is not toxic? He may not be as self-destructive as Titus Young, but he also doesn't have the documented mental illnesses that Young was facing.

I didn't recall the gang members incident when expressing my thoughts. That's certainly a huge concern. If any team wanted to stay clear from him just on that alone, I would totally support the decision. The airport incident certainly is very concerning but not on the level of the gang member party incident.

Regarding Titus Young, he had major issues at Boise St. that I wasn't aware of when the Lions drafted him. I knew he was suspended early in his time with Boise St. but never did I imagine him to be someone who could be a primary reason for a team being derailed.

I would have loved Smith on this team on a 1-year incentive-laden deal. Dang.

I'm usually the first one to look over character issues for players, but Aldon Smith is a time bomb. He's going to end up killing someone or himself.

Aldon has had 3 DUIs, 2 were after he checked himself into rehab and involved a crash of some sort. He had a party at HIS residence where he was later stabbed in a gang altercation. He's been arrested for possessing assault weapons and weed, and also a bizarre incident where he was yelling the word " bomb " in an airport. To say he is " only a danger to roads and airports" is a very ignorant statement.

If there is one person who doesn't deserve to be in the NFL, regardless of how talented he may be, it's Aldon Smith.

Yes.

It's one thing to have confidence. It's another to be a complete fool.

At least we tried.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.

1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle.

2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Nope.

Tweet from Raiders Beat (@RaidersBeat) - Report: TB and JAX offered Aldon Smith nearly twice as much money as #Raiders. http://www.raidersbeat.com/?p=1315

Wonder if the Jags and Bucs had too many incentives and clauses for his liking.
