Since this will probably be the most exciting part of our season, I thought this would be a great place to start the Teddy Bridgewater countdown. Haters need not post in this topic, as this will be the official home for all poitive Teddy talk leading up to April.

Scouting:

Skill-Set Summary: Bridgewater has an excellent physical skill set and possesses the passing ability to be a starter in the NFL. He has a powerful arm with natural accuracy. From a size perspective, Bridgewater is solid. He isn't as tall as the ideal height,s but he is tall enough and plays at a good weight.


Bridgewater made some astounding throws downfield last year. He was able to fire the ball deep despite getting some pressure and not being able to step into the throw. Bridgewater generally has good ball placement in the intermediate and deep part of the field.


One of the most impressive attributes about Bridgewater as a young player was the improvement he made in ball security. The sophomore consistently made good decisions in 2012 and was not careless with the football. His passing attempts increased from 296 to 419, but he was able to cut his interceptions from 12 to eight. Bridgewater showed nice patience to take what defenses gave him, but didn't hesitate to go downfield.


There are a few areas in which Bridgewater could stand to improve. His footwork could get better for the NFL and it will help his accuracy. He could stand to improve on his anticipation, too, but he has a good starting point and should continue to get better as he gains more experience.


As an athlete, Bridgewater is more similar to Andrew Luck rather than Robert Griffin III or Cam Newton. Bridgewater has good mobility and can pick up yards on the ground, but he looks more natural as a pocket passer.


Bridgewater also seems to have the 'it' factor. He plays his best late in the season and in clutch time. Bridgewater has intelligence and toughness beyond his good passing ability. He even played well while hurt as a sophomore. Bridgewater has upside to develop and clearly his best football is in front of him. He could be an NFL franchise quarterback.

I don't really see the Rams or Giants taking a QB. Bradford is clearly not the problem in St Louis and The Giants are more likely to continue to develop someone like Nassib behind Eli. Or draft someone in the 2+ rounds.

 

Vikings will win 4-5 games.

 

It's really Us, the Bucs, and Cleveland.

I don't disagree with you on that, but the point of the standings was not to try and predict who each team will pick, but rather to keep updated on the #1 overall spot as the season progresses.

Baffling to look back... we and the Vikings both selected QBs in the same draft, one that was supposedly very deep, but ended up not being not as strong of a class overall as expected... both of us missed.  Cam Newton is a stat machine, but can't win (playing from behind explains the stats.)  Dalton was a hit.  Kaepernick is having a sopomore slump.  Locker still has a chance to grow, and Mallett will ride the pine as long as Brady remains upright.

 

Dalton could end up being the gem of that class at 2/35.

 

Interesting enough, the same may be true about this class.  It's being billed as deep once again.

Bradford won't be dumped if he keeps up his current production. Fisher likes him and they could load up on another goldmine of picks.

 

Glennon would obviously be dumped for the chance to draft Bridgewater. The regime that drafted him may not survive the season, anyway.

Not sure where you're getting that he can't win.  Dalton has had an easier schedule than Cam Newton, and he has AJ Green.  And of the 21 games that Newton has lost, only 6 are by more than a touchdown (Dalton does only have 5, but he also has less losses so that makes sesne).  Cam Newton is 14-21, while Dalton is 21-14.  Just a 7 game difference.  I'd also say that the Bengals were already in better shape than the Panthers (and still are).  

 

I don't think Dalton has been that good, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Newton doesn't win a playoff game before Dalton.  

 

I'd also say that you can never compare draft classes by 'circumstances'.
