Monday presser

Quote:And you know there's no accountability because you're in the locker room and the meeting rooms witnessing this first hand?  Or, are you basing this solely on how he responds to questions in a presser?  I'm sure it's unheard of for a coach to say as little as possible in press conferences because he's not going to throw players or coaches under the bus in front of a camera, right?
These guys don't play like they want to win. They just don't. They can't put together anything in the second half. If there was accountability on offense, they would have brought in some veteran receiving help. You gotta get angry sometimes, even on the sideline. He shouldn't have to wait til the end of the game to get his damn point across.

Getting Marks back is great, rather he is back to last years form or not, another body in the rotation is always good

Lee being back also good, get some more speed out there

Quote:Hiring a new OC, QB  coach, and OL coach is EXACTLY what you call pressing the reset button.
BUT THAT DOESNT RESET THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE HEAD COACH. HE DOESN'T GET A FREE PASS FOR THE PREVIOUS 25 LOSSES. WHAT KIND OF [BLEEP]  REALITY DO YOU LIVE IN?

DONT WORRY GUYS, WE'RE 0 AND 4 FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, BUT IT'S JUST 4 WEEKS, WE COULD STILL TURN THIS SHIP AROUND.

AT LEAST WE BELIEVE IN VICTORY THO, AMIRIGHT?

Year 3 is a make-it-or-break-it year for Gus no matter what staffing changes have been made.  I think they've all made that abundantly clear, but apparently some here refuse to recognize this.

I think the players and coaches believe in victory, but nobody in the organization has a clue how to achieve it.

So now you can tell us how the guys are approaching the game mentally too?

It's amazing how much talent we have on this message board.  It's a wonder we don't have a bunch of NFL coaches just waiting for the phone to ring.

We'll see.  If they can't figure it out, they won't be here to whine about next year.

I don't want to wait the whole year. Let Marrone see what he can do with the same roster. Then we can figure out if Caldwell should be gone too. The last thing we should want is for this process to drag out.

Stopped listening to gus' s babbling a while ago. It's time to put up or shut up.

They better beat Miami. This is probably the most important game in Gus Bradley's head coaching career.

Life's tough.  Marrone isn't an upgrade.  He's got his fingerprints all over the offense already.  You're whining that this is all Gus' fault.  Marrone is in on the offensive play calling.

DO YOU KNOW THAT FOR A FACT? ARE YOU IN THE LOCKER ROOM? See, I can do that too.

Here's my thing: I think Marrone would probably be Caldwell's guy next year anyway, to maintain continuity for Bortles. Wouldn't you rather see what he can do this year so that Caldwell can maybe bring in new blood next year if it doesn't work?

Miami is an important game.

Beating Miami can give the team and fans hope that they can turn things around.

Failing to beat Miami, while tough, would not be entirely unexpected.

Failing to beat Tampa, however, after losing the first four, THAT would virtually mean there is no hope for this team to be anything other than a complete bottom feeder....again.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Agreed, but you're not subscribing to the proper mindset.  Someone should be fired right now.

Caldwell didn't hire Marrone.  Bradley did.

No, I want to see what Bradley can do with the team that he and Caldwell have spent the past 3 years building.  If it falls short of expectations when the season is over, both of them will more than likely be looking for jobs.

Boy, you really got me there.  You're the one telling us what's going on.  I question YOU, and you try to turn it around on me because I questioned you?  You're a clever one.

When Marrone was hired, it was made clear that he was going to have a hand in developing the offensive game plans.  I didn't need to be in the locker room.

Source?

It's funny, early in the offseason I wondered about the extent of Marrone's influence in the offense.  I remember posting an article from Buffalo talking about how his play calling hurt the developing QBs in Buffalo.  Just about everyone on this board assured me he was just the OL coach and would have no influence on the playcalling, except to the extent the OL is performing.

Now, after training camp, the preseason, and one regular season game, he is in on the playcalling?!?

A loss to tampa would be devastating, but a win would also be uninspiring. Tampa is one of the worst teams I can remember seeing.
