I just said we've seen play on a level above what Mariota displayed today from Bortles multiple times already. I didn't even touch on the turnovers that were nullified by penalties that Mariota committed today. When has Bortles ever thrown 4 TDs in a game, let alone a half? How about have a positive TD:INT ratio? Bortles has shown far more negatives than positives. For Mariota its the opposite.

You take that 4 TD game and hold it tight to your heart, so it might comfort you through the cold and difficult nights ahead.

Lived in Nashville for the past 15 years. Far prefer Nashville. I like Florida but Jax is more South Georgia than North Florida.

There's certainly no accounting for tastes. At least we only have the difficult nights here and can leave the cold and difficult ones to Jax north up in nashville. RG3 had two 4 TD games his rookie year.

Quote:Lol this is ridiculous. We have more drops than your team so our QB isn't as sucky as yours? Salty, salty tack fan. I'm sorry that you could only lead the division for a week. I'd really treasure that, because there aren't too many other wins you can circle on your schedule, kid.

Pretty delusional to come to another team's board and talk smack after a loss to THE BROWNS hahahahaha.

Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED! Quote:You take that 4 TD game and hold it tight to your heart, so it might comfort you through the cold and difficult nights ahead. In 16 games Bortles only has 3 multiple TD games, with the last game against the Dolphins being the only one where he has had no turnovers while accomplishing this feat (still only managed 54% completion rate). In only 6 quarters of playing time, Mariota has 6 TDs (tying yet another NFL record) with no interceptions. It took Bortles six whole games to match that level of production, and he racked up 12 INTs in the process. So you hold on to the win vs. Miami, because this is the best game Bortles has ever played and it was far from awe-inspiring. It's funny people make assumptions of what team I am a fan of, like it even matters when it comes to the analysis of players.
The fumbles are a bit concerning but anytime a team turns the ball over that many times they cant truly expect to win the game.
He's a rookie he'll have good games and bad, but the difference between him and Bortles (which could be the OCs faults) is that he isnt scared to throw it deep & that his oline is way better than Bortles was last year... lets see how he played last week had he had LT Luke Jokestill blocking for him.
Quote:Yeah, yeah, and Tennessee is Atlanta's coon skin cap. So does that make Jax the [BLEEP]? ![]()

Quote:Lol this is ridiculous. We have more drops than your team so our QB isn't as sucky as yours? W T F?!? So, you're saying that receivers catching the ball isn't part of the process of throwing passes? Doesn't matter if it's a perfect pass if noone is catching it. Still looks the same in the stats that you're looking at. Literally just take away the drops from last year and Bortles has the same completion percentage as A-Rod (~65%). How are you even trying to say that someone dropping a ball that hits them in the hands doesn't affect the QB? Quote:So, you're saying that receivers catching the ball isn't part of the process of throwing passes? Doesn't matter if it's a perfect pass if noone is catching it. Still looks the same in the stats that you're looking at. This is a poor argument for a number of reasons: 1) Drops are for the most part a subjective stat; there is no reliable way to consistently quantify them. A poorly thrown ball might still hit a receiver in the hands but is it a 'drop' or a bad pass (e.g, thrown too hard or with poor timing)? I'm curious to see your source for the drops and the league numbers as a whole. 2) Every QB deals with drops, its a part of the game. If you correct for Bortles dropped passes then you must account for every other QB's dropped passes as well, raising their completion rates as well. Meaning the relative change in his 'accuracy' isn't as significant as you would think. 3) You're ignoring the drops by the defense. Accounting for drops, Bortles would have had at least one INT against the Dolphins and many more over the course of his 16 career games played (and he already had 19 INTs). 4) A couple of drops per game does not significantly change the overall evaluation and trajectory of the player. The Colt's receivers lead the league in dropped passes last year, but Luck was still consistently one of the most promising QB prospects of the past decade. Bortles, on the other hand, has been one of the most underwhelming. Quote:Its sad that on his worst day Mariota was still better than Bortles' best. I watched both qbs today, and Blake looked MUCH better than Mariota this week. It wasn't even close. Mariota was getting throws around "like a ragdoll," and he was erratic as heck. His best throw came late in the game when he practically threw a duck up for grabs, and fortunately for him a TItans player came up with it. Ultimately the game was lost when he fumbled handing it back over to the Browns to sit on the ball. While I admit he suffered from several drops, his passes aren't exactly easy to catch. He throws darts similar to the kind of passes Byron Leftwich used to throw when he threw short, and they smack the receiver's hands. The guy has no touch. Blake has suffered drops with passes practically floating right into their hands. Blake throws perfect arcs with outstanding touch. Mariota throws a football like he's throwing darts.
