Young and Sample

This board is bipolar.
And weren't you talking about how bad young was?

He was bad last week. Is that something to argue about? He gave up two sacks in 28 snaps. I give him the up most credit for turning in a hell of a game today. I didn't call for his roster spot nor am I championing him to start. I'm satisfied with him providing decent depth when called upon.

Quote:I will go out on a limb and say that Luke has to be replaced by Sam Young. I was hounded for saying this earlier but his level of protection is infinitely better than what Luke can offer. It's ok to realize that a high draft pick did not pan out - but he has to be replaced. That draft class was trash for the most part (talking about the entire NFL draft from top to bottom).

Blake's blindside was protected very well today and I expect it to continue as long as this lineup remains the same. We saw more deep plays go our way because of the time Blake was given to make those throws and allow the routes to develop.

I will also mention that Cyprien's presence has not been missed. We expected him to be a playmaker but he has been anything but. I think Sample earned his spot as a starter as the SS. Sample has held his own, made the tackles that he had to make, and did not blow any coverages. For those of you who will say he gave up a TD, Tannehill made a good anticipation throw because Sample had very good coverage on the play.
We watched the game, also on the TD againest Sample he slipped a little bit on the field. Sample did. I saw the slip, not enough to fall, but slow him down.

I thought Young shouldve replaced Joeckel in PreSeason and everyone laughed at me, sure he's not a good LT but he's better than Luke.

As far as Cyprien he struggled last year, but he is still currently better than Sample at SS.

Too small a sample size.

I found it hard to gauge Sample because Lamar Miller rarely got past our line.

Definitely didn't notice any bad plays either though.

We also played without Gratz, House and Colvin too. Our top 3 corners didn't finish the game. Hard to separate all that into just missing Cyprien.
