Ezekiel Elliott

Probably not but to be fair it is left footed punter.  That backwards spin take some getting used to.

Quote:Yes this source is from Walter Football, but it looks like hes still getting the Fred Taylor comparisons.. Nice! Thoughts?

"Ezekiel Elliott is a first-round prospect despite the fact that the running back position has been devalued. Elliott, who was amazing in Ohio State's championship run, has drawn comparisons to Fred Taylor."

I can see that.

Don't know if he's got Fred's moves, but not sure he needs any moves.

Ezekiel Elliott won state with a 10.95 100.

Fred Taylor didn't win state, but he ran a 10.85 in high school.

Vintage Fred played a little faster too. Not a bad comparison, but I don't know if we will ever see another Fred in our lifetimes.

Interesting to see which rb emerges as the top rb between Elliott and Henry.

I don't watch a lot of college, but Elliott seems like a man among boys. What about Chubb or Cook?

Quote:His last three games last year were unbelievable.

People were saying after the national championship game Elliott was good enough to play in the NFL if only he was eligible for the draft because of those performances.

Quote:I was actually hoping we held out on drafting a RB high this year so we could of drafted this guy. Oh well, hopefully Yeldon can prove me wrong

I was thinking that too, but knew we could not wait a year to fix our running back position. It was just bad timing to need a running back upgrade. But Yeldon did not look bad against the Panthers.

I had never heard of a guy named Chubb until I read the sports ticker on the SEC Network. Cook deserves his own thread.

You haven't heard of Nick Chubb but you're a Gator fan? Mhm.

When I watched Elliott last season, Fred Taylor is who he reminded me of.

So you think punt returners are more likely to fumble left-footed punts?  It is more likely Elliott just needs more experience in that area because someone else used to return punts for Ohio State.

That said, I agree Elliott will not return punts in the NFL. It just won't have anything to do with the punter's foot choice.

He's a great human being IMO as a tiger homer. For his sake I really hope he stays healthy.

If the Jags end up picking in the low teens in the draft, then I could see a case being made for the Jags selecting Ezekiel Elliot in Rd 1 of the 2016 draft. First, his pass protection skills are on par with Yeldon's and he offers a totally different look and matchup problem as compared to Yeldon. The selection of Elliot could also allow either Yeldon and/or Robinson to play some slot WR, which would give Blake even more weapons on 3rd downs

Let's face it, the Jags need to be able to hold on to the ball and score lots of points if they are to complete for a playoff spot and then advance in the playoffs. Ezekiel Elliott at Picks 12 through 14 would not be too soon in my estimation and then the Jags would be set with a higher octane offense.

Your thoughts?

You're absolutely insane if you think we take a RB in the first 3-4 rounds next draft. Thank god you aren't the GM.

I didn't really pay close attention to the draft or teams other than the jaguars until a few years ago. I remember watching a vikings preseason game when AP was a rookie. I thought to myself, man that guy runs a lot like Taylor. Though, I don't know enough about football to tell you if their running styles are actually similar. Maybe I'm just being a homer?
