The Giant Fire Gus & Dave Thread (MERGED)

I have noticed the trend slowly moving away from not having enough talent to mainly placing blame on the coaching staff.
Are we in agreement that we have some good talent now? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:people complain he is happy and handing out ice cream. soooo now that he isn't, he is also wrong. great stuff you guys got. gotta love having it both ways We've been getting it all kinds of ways, nearly every week since Gus has been the head coach.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:I have noticed the trend slowly moving away from not having enough talent to mainly placing blame on the coaching staff. It's a combination of no playmakers and pitiful coaching
Quote:I have noticed the trend slowly moving away from not having enough talent to mainly placing blame on the coaching staff. Doesn't matter, they have the guys they picked and signed. If they don't have the talent the house will still need to be cleaned all the same. If Gus were a great coach he'd be competitive with bad talent and winning with average talent, but Gus isn't a great coach, I don't even think he's a mediocre coach. Looks like Dave used all the wrong criteria when he made his hiring decision back in 2013.
Alot of overreaction to his comment. He will ride out this storm and will be reevaluated after the season.

Quote:I have noticed the trend slowly moving away from not having enough talent to mainly placing blame on the coaching staff. We do when they are on the field. Peyton Thompson, our 5th CB, played most of the second half filling in for Sergio at FS. Josh Evans, who's only starting because Cyp is out had to leave the game, House was the recipient of a Gronk cheap shot and has been in and out of the game. Lee, who should be our WR #2 can't stay on the field. Our best defensive player just starting practicing last week. Our supposed best offensive player played all of one preseason snap. We have some talent but we're a walking MASH unit.

Quote:The defense is bending and breaking. So passive and slow. Defense gameplan is to wait for opponent to make three mistakes in a row and punt Pretty much this. This has been our defensively philosophy dating back since Coughlin was fired. It's just that we had so much talent on defense in JDR's early years that the players could play above the X's and O's. Almost every catch was uncontested today. We just had to hope that the Patriots receivers would drop the ball 3 times in a row with nobody within 4 or 5 yards - on all 9 of the Patriots possessions.
I love Gus. I sooooo want him to be successful. That being said, this is a bad loss, and he has had quite a few since he got here.

Really bummed me out that most every time brady threw the ball it was to a very open.....like standing in the grand canyon open.......receiver.
Because Jaguars is our mantra
Quote:Wow Quote:I mean is that really such a bad thing? Why risk injuring him in a game we had no chance of winning? On to next week "A man with no sauce is lost.

How can anybody be upset over this game? Yea I admit I was pissed after week 1 because Carolina was a winnable game. We played the defending champs in their barn with probably the greatest QB of all time in full F U mode! Half of our secondary is out with injuries, along with our best defensive player, first round pick, prize free agent acquisition, with injuries along the OL to boot. We had no chance at this game no matter what. The Pats are pissed at the NFL right now and will be running up the score on teams every week.
We got a solid win last week, let's see how we do in Indy next week before getting our panties in a bunch. Indy looks very beatable and we can stay in the division race with a win.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED! Quote:He was pulled in the first quarter. Game wasn't out of reach then.it didn't take too long for it to get out of reach "A man with no sauce is lost.
<p style="text-align:center;">But that same man can get lost in the sauce."
Oh, and by the way, Tyrod Taylor out there looking better than Blake too. So there's that.

Of course he thinks he could have gone... They should keep him out instead of risk his injury getting worse this early in the season against a team that is pretty much unbeatable with all the injuries we have.. sheesh - do any of you guys have kids that play competitive sports?
Quote:The bills have a way better supporting cast for Tyrod though.I mean, there's really no reason why that should be the case. 2 2nd round wide receivers, a second round running back, and a running back you paid decent money for last year. Either way, if it's the QB or the supporting cast, it's caldwell's fault. |
