They might feel more comfortable with the backups after a week more of practice and felt it was better to hold him out in case of making the injury worse. Either that or there was a bit of a setback during the patriots game

Possibly. Hopefully it's another LT situation where they come in and the OL doesn't miss a beat. Interesting that Cann looks to be the guy even though Shatley held the spot down well in preseason
