Caldwell isn't the problem with this team.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Everyone saying that DC should have kept the old roster.... where are all of Gene Smith's draft picks now? How many are difference makers on other teams? Pro bowlers? HoFers? Who'd we lose?

At this rate, we'll be saying the same things with Caldwell's draft picks.

Yes, but wait until the Bye week.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:Yeldon = unimpressive after 100+ yard game? weird timing....

Bortles = over 240+pass yards and 55+ rush yards? weird timing...

Robinson is a #2....yes, and you just figured that out now? Hurns is #1, most of us 'true' fans already know that.

You didn't notice Cyprien?... maybe we should bring in Evans so you can see the difference?

I think you've had a little too much to drink today, go to bed.

Yes IMO Yeldon has been unimpressive this year...I would rather have Denard in there at least he has the speed/ability to take it to the house.

Bortles had what 178 yards in the first half...and what 70 or 75 passing yards the next almost 3 quarters...he seems to be able to be good for only a half...so yes...he is average.

Hurns is a #1 only on the Jags...he doesn't scare anyone.

Cyp is better than his back up...great...but that doesn't make him a game changer...I seriously doubt opposing offensive coaches are losing sleep over Cyp.

I believe in victory, I just don't believe Gus is the one to deliver it

Quote:So would you trade the Jags roster for the Colts Roster sans Andrew Luck straight up?  I sure wouldn't.

I probably would't, but thats because I'm no fan of Grigson either. But seriously, are you going to sit here and put this solely on Gus?

I'm not down on the players.  They have to go with the game plan and all of the weekly preparation.  The game plan was a very Luck type plan because they thought he would play.  Milk the clock and play safe.  This coaching staff goes with what they put on paper and hope for perfect execution.

I think they expect a lot out of young and inexperienced players.  This game was a wrapped gift for the taking.  When we look back on the Bradley tenure this is a good focus point for why he is replaced.

I agree with this. I think the talent is there. The scheming and game prep isn't. Gus has to go.

Gus should absolutely be on the hot seat. No way this team should have lost today. Between the penalties and continuation of 2nd half problems, it's got to be on the coaching staff. Gus is in over his head. Great guy, but not head coaching material

On the other hand, I'm willing to give Caldwell more time. He has done a good job acquiring better personnel. However, if he keeps Gus I'm afraid he will also have to go. General managers must make the hard decisions and it will be difficult to fire his friend, but he must do this if they lose to Tampa and Houston. And that could happen, although the Texans are as awful as us.

Gus deserves a good bit of the blame imo.  I think he's overwhelmed by being the head coach.  His choices in coordinators are mostly underwhelming too.  Caldwell has put together some talent.  It's not cream of the crop talent yet.  But remember that his first draft was a pretty weak draft class, and most of the players we got rid of with maybe one or two exceptions weren't that good elsewhere.

Exactly. Most of the players under Gene are nobodies or not in the nfl. While DC's cuts get picked up because of talent. We need a true coach.
