Can't really argue with that. They've consistently dropped a steaming pile out on the field and no real repercussions for it. I bet they do like him.

How many pass deflections did Cyp have today? I dont care about a bunch of tackles on a tight end after he catches in your face 8 times

Oh no, the kicker missed a field goal and the world is falling apart.

Come on guys. Really?

Pull it together or just stop watching the game, cause this is what happens in the NFL, just about every week.

The kicker missed two field goals (technically three), all game winners if they go through. The kicker was in that position because the team was flagged for stupid penalties, had breakdowns in coverage and blew offensive plays all day. Any time a game comes down to a kicker, something didn't go right, but Myers blowing it twice was kind of like ripping all of our hearts out and taking a whiz on them.

Quote:Who cares if they like Gus?!

We continue to lose. I'm sure the guys would like anyone as long as we are winning.
Who cares if the players believe in their HC? If the players inside the stadium, the ones who sit on the meetings, studies the gameplans, participates in practice believe in Gus and don't think he's holding them back, you don't think that's important in deciding if you need to keep your coach or not? (and I dont mean the interview speak that we get, since no one will call out Gus publicly).

As we've seen before (Mularkey), if the players really don't think a coach is good enough, they will find a way to "leak" it to the public without it being traced back to them. So far, none of that has come out about Gus, so I have no reason to believe that what we hear in interviews are just fluff talk from players.

Funny, but this isn't your run of the mill call center job. This is the NFL, where the elite of the elite play. If the players feel that Gus and the coaching staff are holding them back, you'd bet they want him gone...ice cream and sprinkles and all.

Cyprien and the defense had a good game.  He actually helped force the fumble.  They held the colts to 13 points in 4 quarters. They played well.

The offense was inefffective again in the second half.  The opposing team adjust and the Jags don't have an answer

Oh right...Gus is doing an excellent job.  Please give him a contract extension tonight before some one swoops him up!

Wins don't matter as long as long as the players like the coach. Got it.

Really? I think every time one of those game checks cleared, I'd thank my lucky stars that nobody seems to care that we've been the worst team of the last decade, and they just keep sending them.

So now we are switching to "players only care about money" argument?

Except that's not at all what I said. But clearly you have no desire to participate in a legitimate discussion so uh..

*puts on Gus bradley hat*

Sprinkles for you! You're a winner!

There you happy now?

Who is "we"? We're not a hive mind, and yeah, I think there are guys doing a bad job and getting away with it every week because we aren't measuring in wins, or results, but "effort". And yes, I think every time that pay check clears they think they're very lucky to be here, because this wouldn't fly most places.

Gus is the problem with this team. Caldwell is getting us the right players, they're just not being coached correctly.

Who are these players, I'm curious, that you think is getting away with it because we aren't measuring in wins (which by the way, isn't really true, and surprised that people still don't understand Gus' mantra 3 years in).

Also, NFL contracts aren't guaranteed so....

Does it matter if the players like the coach? Yes, sometimes. Harbaugh was not very liked but guess what, they were winning a ton. It wasn't until they started losing that you saw problems.

Give me a hated Harbaugh coach going to a SB and 3 straight NFC championships any day of the week.

Gus is very up beat and good for him. But you have to win in this league. No matter if players like you or not
