Quote:Unfortunately the buck stops with the coach. If this team was doing amazing, he would get all the credit. Since it's not, he is getting all the blame. His job is to coach the players he has and put wins on the board. Whether those players suck or not is not his responsibility. Caldwell should bring in more talent if that's the case. I believe Caldwell has brought the talent in, Gus just isn't taking advantage of it. A WR consistently drops passes? Take him out and replace him. A lineman keeps missing his block? Take him out and replace him. Make them feel the heat of not performing well. Does Gus do that? We don't know. All we see from the outside looking in is that he pats his players on the backs and congratulates them even if they do terrible. This team needs discipline BAD and I'm not sure Gus is the guy to do that.

Ah - one of my pet peeves. You've seen to many movies of high school coaches.

I'm positive that Gus would get much less criticism if he fit the stereotype of the old-school coach. Yell at someone! I want to see your face get red, the veins in your neck sticking out! Maybe punch someone! Then I'd know you're a real coach!

We all know what a real coach looks like, and what a real coach does, right? I mean, that's how it was when I was in high school.

I never said yell and throw things. They are grown professionals. They aren't going to stand for that. However, there are still ways to discipline them without having to be "that" coach. One option again is to take them out of the game. As much as these guys love money, they also love the game and love competition. Will taking them out hurt us too? Yep. But at least they'll know that sub-par performances won't be tolerated. Make them stay in the weight room longer. Make them watch more film. There are always ways to invoke discipline on players without screaming at them. However, hopefully you can agree, that a coach calling a terrible performance "a hard fought game that both sides should be commended on" is not the best route. Players need to be told straight up when they suck. No reason to sugar coat things and stay on their good side.

Quote:Well they are offering a solution. Firing the current coach and getting someone else. The hope is that this someone else has the right answer. Whether it's play calling, discipline, experience, whatever. I agree with you that the players need to play like professionals and earn the salary they are getting. If they can't perform to the standards set, get rid of them. However, there is a lot to be said about the coaching. I have to think that if Belichick came here as the coach he would be able to get us winning again. But, maybe not. Much of his success came from amazing talent. But, maybe it also came from his genious coaching and play calling.

Since the fan base don't have the answers, the only solution seems to be is a new coach. For me, the talent seems to be here. We have great receivers, great QB, decent oline, RB that is progressing, and above average TE's. Why are we not putting points on the board? Play calls? Players who are not creative enough to make plays? Not sure.

So in other words you don't have a clue as to who should take over? Great.

And I hate to break it to you but we don't have "great receivers" and "a great QB". They've been in the league one year and four games. Let's hope they continue to improve. If you truly have those expectations you could bring in the reincarnation of Vince Lombardi and be disappointed.

And - Belichick = a Hall of Fame quarterback. Period.

People will throw all sorts of name that should take over. Some with proven offense. Some with proven defense. Some with proven whatever. I personally don't have a selection. But I think that most people want a new coach because they are craving that "something" that we are missing. Whether it's chemistry, playcalling, discipline, or whatever. The hope is that the new coach can bring that missing piece. The same is thought about every coach. "Oh they are going to turn it around!". Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. But obviously our current direction is the continued wrong one. For whatever reason.

Again, the blame is on the coach because he is supposed to put a team on the field that can win. They aren't. So, get rid of the coach.

It's up to the players AND the coaches to fix whatever, wherever and whoever the problems are as the rest of the season progresses.

If they don't want to listen or respond to fans that's fine, but understand you HAVE to get better or you WILL lose fans for 2016.

It's really that simple, fans are tired of seeing wildly, erratic football. It's been said over and over. You don't have to win......just have a good and proper accounting of yourselves and your effort. The first four games we showed that at the Miami game, still almost lost it but squeaked it out. Pats game was our biggest blowout and embarrassing, Panthers and clots game were very winnable if not for an combination of the team not preparing or being prepared.

Please ....you can tune us out, but you're responsible for where the money and ticket sales go come January.

That you cannot tune out or ignore.

I also support Khan with whatever decision he makes because ultimately......it all comes back on his shoulders.

Good luck Jaguars....I truly hope you get the message and respond.

So this [BLEEP] sendarick marks is more focused on what the fans are saying versus focusing on his rehab and getting ready to return.

This mother better come back with a vengeance or he will just be a one hit wonder.

[BLEEP] [BLEEP] mother [BLEEP] riding Gus jock just like all the other mother [BLEEP] in the locker room because they are on a paid vacation.

This team ain't [BLEEP] and will never be [BLEEP] until Khan does something which I think this piece of [BLEEP] doesn't even have the football iq to do anything.

THIS SO MUCH. I live in Tenn.. DEEP in Peyton/Titan country. I'm surprised I'm not dead yet. Its exhausting.

A-Rob put up these earlier.

I don't really get involved in this too much but it's a reason why we do what we do, and fans do what they do and media do what they #levels

and

Yeah...I love A-Rob and all that, but really....not smart to talk about the fans like that. Especially when the situation is as dicey as it is. What this tells me is that the players in the locker room are not tuning it out and that they're letting it get to them. Hopefully this doesn't start affecting the locker room even more, but I fear it may be the beginning of the end.

Players on a team that has been this dismal for this long should be thanking the fans, not criticizing them. It isn't rocket surgery.

Any one who spells hole instead of whole...clearly has no concept of what W's are. Like his coach.

Watching the Seahawks last night. They have over 20 undrafted players, most in the NFL. Many are playing lights out. That's coaching. We have had so many high draft picks the last few years and done zippo.

To rehash..it's the 3rd year. Excuses are running out. But there go Linder and Poz...two top players, so do they get another pass? It's getting old folks.

Depth. It's what good teams have.
