Telvin Smith can't cover

#21

Quote:Until we start averaging 20+ points a game, the offense is the number one concern. We knew exactly what the Colts would do and still couldn't put up more than 13 points. Unacceptable
Agreed. The offense was the big problem last year, and nothing is different this year. We have young guys making some plays here and there, but it's resulting in nothing. It's one of the reasons I was for taking Amari Cooper. He was the best talent available and he fit a need (touchdown maker is a big need for us)... Oh well.

you know your offense is bad when you are legit shocked to make a big play

I was shocked to pieces in the dolphins game

just turns out that the dolphins are really really bad. maybe worse than we are

Quote:I mean Telvin Smith isnt the problem on the team, how about how the line got almost zero pressure (with the exception of Chris Clemons) all game long, but they did do a great job against the run.

The Defense wasn't horrible i mean holding the opponent to only 13 points until Overtime would be a win for most teams that can actually score with their offense.

I agree with that.   To single out Telvin, when the offense only scores 13 points, is putting the blame in the wrong place.   No one can cover 100% when there's no pass rush, AND, if we had won, no one would even remember those passes to the tight end.   By the end of the season, NFL tight ends will have caught about 1000 passes.   Telvin had a couple completed on him, but if we had been able to score more than 13 points, no one would even remember that.

Hell no. Oh hell no.
I can't stand this team right now, but Telvin Smith should not be blamed at all. He's the only dude that brings fire and energy to this team and brings it all the time.

Just because the offense got shut out doesnt mean telvin lacks awarness in zone coverage. Go back look at the td and tell me who he was drifting to cover. At his size he has to be better in coverage.

Quote:I understand how frustrating it is believe me. I live in Cowboys country so it's even worse when my team looks like crap because I have to hear it from everyone. And it's never ending man, I've just become so numb to it. It's hard to be a fan of this team. Some people just go crazy and blame everyone and want to fire everyone. Others are calm and collected but get called named and apologists just because we haven't got our panties in a bunch. Yeah I'm mad but I'm not going to just go off on people I don't know.

Mostly everything Ive said, needs to be taken into consideration. Ive been called so much its ridiculous.

If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

Go ahead and post the stats of TEs the Jaguars have faced this year.

Then come up with excuses.

I'll wait...

I may not live in Cowboys country, however believe me when I tell you that I feel your pain when it comes to the people telling me how much the Jags suck and how I should find a new team...my license plate is "JAX JAGS" I hear the trash talk literally every day lol

It was one bad game against a 6 foot 6 te with 30 pounds on him

Not that worried cyp handled him pretty well

Add to that skuta flashes a hell of a lot. If he can be more consistent we really could have something

I remember watching one play where Telvin tackled him and when they both got up and were near each other and the size difference between the 2 was just huge. Telvin looked so small standing next to him.

I like Telvin, he's like a small pitbull out there against all those bigger dogs, he has no fear going up against them.

Plus he's so fast.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

What in the blue Hell is going on here?

I dunno, fans gone crazy...

A 2nd year six round pick Weak OLB is to blame for losing a game in which the Offense failed to score?  The same WOLB whom is ranked 5th overall in the NFL in tackles....

Whaaaat?

Great. Go after one of the lone bright spots on this squad.

There is no shortage of ineffective players on the Jags to complain about. Telvin is not one of them.

My solution is to draft a tightend to play linebacker.

Ha... telvin is probably the best player on defense right now. He is not an issue at all.

Dude, when you're on the field repeatedly like this defense was this past game, it's really tiring even for the best defensive players. They held the Colts to 16 points.

Its the difference of him being an all-pro vs just a guy thats 5th in tackles.

When a big play is needed, they send the TE at Telvin.

Yes he is good at times.

He also needs to learn how to turn and run instead of a back peddle and staring at the QB.

Someone please actually watch what I am trying to explain before you say he is great and don't need to be addressed.

#please go watch the Fleener first down in the 4th. The goal line vs Carolina.
