I am shocked after four weeks the only winless team is Detroit, because I thought they were going to be really good this year.
On the other side out of the 4-0 teams I don't think most people would've put the Falcons that high up prior to the start of the season or the Panthers. I think the Falcons are simply being coached well while the Panthers have been lucky with a very easy schedule to date. The SeaHawks would be 4-0 if they had paid their SS, so I wouldve put them higher on the Power Rankings. If Big Ben hadn't been injured the Steelers would be higher on the list too. I would put the Raiders above the Redskins as Jack Del Rio is the better coach and will have a better record in the long run. Out of all the 1-3 teams which one do you feel is the best but simply had bad luck? I think the Chiefs have the best chance to turn things around.
1. New England Patriots
2. Green Bay Packers 3. Cincinnati Bengals 4. Arizona Cardinals 5. Seattle Seahawks 6. Denver Broncos 7. Atlanta Falcons 8. Carolina Panthers 9. Minnesota Vikings 10. I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
You should put your previous week ranking next to each team so we can see how you far you have each team moving
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
1. Packers
2. Patriots 3. Broncos 4. Falcons 5. Bengals

On the flip side regarding the Seahawks, the Lions will probably get a letter from the league saying, "sorry, you should have won" due to Wright illegally batting the ball out of bounds and it not being called. The Lions should have had a first and goal at the one. I'd have probably put the Lions at #21 had I known this. As for your 1-3 team question, that's why I have the Ravens so high. That is, they easily could be 4-0 as all three of their losses were by a hair. They actually beat the Raiders, but the play was called back on the penalty allowing the Raiders to win. Against the Broncos, Flacco had a game-winning TD fall right into his WRs hands but the WR flat dropped it. Against the Ravens it was back-and-forth right 'till the end with the Bengals winning by 4 points, but a little less or a little more time and that's a Ravens win.

But the Bengals game, they did not look good at all. The Bengals just looked alot worse than normal that game. -The Ravens got a fumble return TD on a terrible play by Dalton - a Ravens offensive TD came on a 4th and 5 play (they were forced to go for it on 4th down in the 3rd qtr, because they couldn't do anything). Steve Smith Sr made an absolutely incredible play on that one. He caught the ball short of the sticks, and juked 3 guys on his way to a long TD. That's all the Ravens could do. They mostly sucked. The Bengals "kept them in it." -already up 14-0,, Bengals had the ball on 4th down at the Ravens 4 yard line. They decided to go for it instead of taking the FG and going up 3 scores. Of course,, they failed to convert - then, the Bengals were up 14-3 (IIRC). They had the ball inside the Red Zone about ready to score yet again. Dalton threw a terrible pass that got intercepted in the end zone instead of throwing it away or taking a few yards for a FG. (Points turned away again). - Bengals had the ball on their own 20, when Dalton fumbles and the Ravens pick it up for a TD. Really, the Ravens were seriously lucky to be in that game (they looked awful aside for Steve Smith). Bengals looked bad, but we're still too much for the Ravens and they ended up winning anyway. That said,, of all the 1-3 teams in the AFC, I'd go with the Ravens to be the team that most likely contends for a playoff spot.
1. Patriots
2. Packers 3. Falcons 4. Broncos 5. Bengals 22. Colts 23. Titans 24. Saints 25. Lions 26. Jags 27. Texans 28. Browns 29. Dolphins 30. Bears 31. 49ers 32. Bucs Groupings from about 23 to 30 are getting really tough, as all those teams in that tier of the league are really, really close to each other in talent and competitiveness. Quote:Ravens have been close in all of them. But the Bengals game, they did not look good at all. The Bengals just looked alot worse than normal that game. Thanks for the game re-cap. I can also see the Chiefs getting back in the wildcard hunt.

Yup, I can see the Chiefs there too. They had a really, really rough 3 game stretch: vs Broncos @ Green Bay @ Cincy That was pretty brutal, but they should've beaten the Broncos that Thursday. Anyway, Ravens and Chiefs play each other this season. That could be a big game.
Quote: the Panthers have been lucky with a very easy schedule to date. Still no love? I'll check back after we beat the Seahawks in two weeks. Quote:Still no love? I'll check back after we beat the Seahawks in two weeks.Congrats on 4-0. Panthers are a decent team (one of the best of middle-tier organizations). But, watching the 4 games against against some of the worst teams in the league, I'm not convinced yet. They were all very close (sans Tampa which was never really in doubt). Key injuries do play a role, so I'll give you that. Panthers next stretch of games: @ Seattle vs PHI vs INDY vs Green Bay @ Tenn vs Wash @ Dallas Seattle and Green Bay games are probable losses. PHI, IND, TENN, WASH, look to be very, very close ball games that could go either way (of course, AFCS opponents should be victories). IDK Man. If you guys get through those next 7 games with only a couple losses, I'll jump on the recognition train. But, I predict the Panthers will lose probably 5 out of those next 7, as the competition gets tougher. We'll see. I'll be the first to give you props if they prove me wrong. But so far: Jags (Bortles) Texans (Mallet, lol) Saints (McCown) Bucs (Winston) not sold yet.

That's what all the national media says so I wouldn't expect people who don't really watch our games to have much of a difference of opinion. It's easy to say we haven't beaten anyone - but we've beaten every team that we've played and that's all we can do. Atlanta's schedule is much easier than ours yet everyone wants to act like they're some amazing team because they score a lot of points. Can't wait to see Josh shut down Julio again this year. We're not used to getting respect so it doesn't bother us when we don't get it. It's just funny now how all of a sudden the national media is starting to get on Cam's bandwagon because they see what this guy is really doing for this team. I can't wait to see what "they" say about Seattle, Philly and Indy when we beat them (not that any of those teams are any good either) but everyone thinks they are because "they" say so. I will say this for the Panthers...
Man they have a great young CB in Josh Norman. Before the season started I was trying to say that our CBs McCray and Colvin compare to him, but no they don't. Josh Norman is taking names and should be recognized among the best in the league overall.

I agree 100%, I even mentioned it before, they have not played very good offenses, and they themselves haven't looked all that impressive either facing these teams. Falcons clearly own that division, though I'll see how they play against Seattle.

That makes sense.
Quote:I will say this for the Panthers... Yeah Josh is pretty good, man. We knew if he played like he did last year he was going to be special. Well, he's exceeded that play. We made the mistake not paying him before this season started. He's gonna be expensive now. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Panthers are back-to-back NFCS Champs, both teams are 4-0, yet the Falcons "clearly own the Division"? Hahah....ok. That makes sense. Falcons have played a little better schedule so far. @NYG wasn't an easy game at all. They've also played Philly and Dallas (both teams are down right now),, but they've swept the NFCE to this point. We'll see if the Panthers do that (it's possible). The one common opponent (Houston Texans): Panthers kind of struggled with. Falcons blew their doors off.

They've also played Philly and Dallas (both teams are down right now),, but they've swept the NFCE to this point. We'll see if the Panthers do that (it's possible). The NFCE is terrible. The Giants and Eagles both should have beaten the Falcons but they're so bad they couldn't close the game. They played Dallas with no Romo or Dez. We didn't struggle with Houston. We had a 14 point lead with 7 minutes left and decided to put it on cruise control (which is stupid and something we've been guilty of the whole Rivera tenure). This is what I mean by not expecting you guys to "really" know what is happening since you're not watching the games. It's no big deal....we're gonna get Luke and CJ back and we're going to keep winning. But saying the Falcons clearly own the Division because they have won prettier or because they've had a tougher strength of schedule is just plan dumb. Especially when we have rocked them the past two seasons in their own Dome and Julio can't beat Josh. Quote:The NFCE is terrible. Of course they were dreadful last year. Will Panthers sweep NFCE? Idk. But, I'll give you the Dallas game if Dez/Romo are back by then. |
