General Manager Dave Caldwell on the hot seat with Gus?

In the 3 losses not one loss can you put on Gus Bradley
1st loss was dropped passes, missed kicks, stupid INT 2nd loss we were gonna loss anyways but I blame Gus for how big it was 3rd loss, was missed kicks No where in there can you say if Gus did this we would have won, it was mostly players not doing their simple jobs oh yea and a bunch of injuries Give Gus the rest of the season, Dave gave Gus the young team so he cant fire Gus if the young players play like young players

I mean, if i'm being honest, fans should probably be hoping for marrone's ascension to the interim position sooner rather than later because then we'll know what he can do with this personnel. That'd give us more of an idea of if Caldwell's seat should be hot or not.

I actually dont think dave's seat is remotely hot, if only because the offense and defense actually show promise, albeit in flashes.
Given that the defense hasnt been half bad at all, an ideal scenario would be Gus (somehow) agreeing to stay on as DC. No chance in hell that happens though. I think he's a good defensive coach, I just dont think he's good at game management and in game adjustments Quote:I actually dont think dave's seat is remotely hot, if only because the offense and defense actually show promise, albeit in flashes.Your closing statement is confusing. To be a good defensive coach, it seems like he would at least have to be good at in game adjustments. Now do I buy into the idea that some guys are better suited to be coordinators than head coaches? Sure. Might I buy into the idea that Bradley falls into that group? Sure. But I don't see how a person can be a good defensive coach and not be good at in game adjustments. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Your closing statement is confusing.I should re-phrase perhaps. I think the issue is that, as head coach, he doesnt do as good a job of overseeing adjustments as he should. The head coach has to delegate, sure, but they also should be on top of what's going on in the overall scheme of things, and in constant communication with their coordinators. If on Monday Gus says "yeah, we probably should have done that", then he needs to do a better job of talking to his coordinators IN GAME. Quote:Bradley is responsible for preparing the team for the season and each game. He has not done that well to date. I guess there's no need for coordinators then. Just make Gus do it, right? Yeah, that's worked out well for this team in the past. Great call. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The library has plenty of books on leadership. Feel free to read one any time. Anyone of them will let you know that you can delegate authority but not responsibility. Bradley is the HC. He enables his coordinators to do their job but the responsibility for the team's performance remains with him.

Quote:Considering how void this team has been of talent in the past couple of drafts, BAP and need are pretty much the same thing. BAP sounds nice but who determines which player is the best available player? I mean if it was a list that was agreed upon by the majority of the NFL made available to the public (even if after the fact) we could say hey the GM got the best guy considered on the list, but it doesnt work that way instead the GM says he was the highest on OUR boards. Everyone simply accepts it until after a couple of years it turns out Tyson Alualu is below average DT interior instead of being worthy of a top 10 1st round draft pick (sorry I have a hard time getting over the BS we were force fed back then). I like BAP in theory, but it should be more of an accepted BAP at the time of the draft by many instead of them trying to convince you he was the BAP. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:What in the blue hell are you thinking OP???? Just throwing stuff out there seeking others opinions it was like 4 am at the time... lol
Quote:Not so fast my friends! Before we just defend DC which everyone typically do to poor performances, lets look at what he really did.. Exactly my point, lets not give him a blind seal of approval. He may not be the worst GM but he's far from being the best GM as well... He has made a few mistakes, and E. Monroe was a huge one.

Quote:He let go of a LT who many here, most likely you included, were demanding be released for almost his entire time here in Jacksonville. Only in his final season and a half did he start to show signs he was at least starting to play better. He was in a contract year, and he would have most likely been converted to a RT because they drafted Joeckel to play LT. He wasn't going to take a RT contract. They traded him because otherwise they would have gotten nothing with his departure, and any new contract was highly unlikely. The problem I guess with LT Luke Joekel is he was GM Dave Caldwell's first draft choice (2nd overall in the draft) and it was then told to us that he would play RT only to later trade Monroe and move him to LT in which he has played poorly (you cant blame injury on a GM). 2013 wasnt a great draft year for many of teams so not having a ProBowl player in his draft is a pass (also has only been a couple of years). Quote:I'll give you Bortles, but in what alternate dimension was Fowler a reach? Now, I'm not a draftnik since I don't follow college football, but I seem to recall Fowler being listed among, if not as the, best pass rushing prospect in this past draft. Yeah, him getting hurt stunk in typical #becauseJaguars fashion, but that doesn't turn him miraculously into reach status. Fowler wasnt a reach but the injury stinks (again injury isnt GMs fault though). 2013 31st Jaguars Offense 293.8 Yards/G 2014 31st Jaguars Offense 289.6 Yards/G 2013 28th ranked Jaguars Defense 379.4 Yards/G 2014 26th ranked Jaguars Defense 370.8 Yards/G Currently 18th ranked in both Offense & Defense 2015 so I guess the team is improving... we'll have to wait and see how this Bucs game goes...
Quote:U r really really dumb That means a lot coming from an idiot such as yourself, takes one to know one I guess..
Caldwell must own up to the mistake of hiring gus though. Who directs the next search?
