General Manager Dave Caldwell on the hot seat with Gus?

So wait, this is an example of 'something of value'?

You want to keep talking about that on Thursday? And you are questioning Rico offering anything of value to the board.

Did you not say you weren't posting anymore? Is this something that only the whiners of the board do? We have anygivensunday jumping ship and vowing never to post again while giving his seal off approval for the team to relocate, clf saying he isn't posting anymore, tealroar or something or other also not posting anymore for rest of season (huge loss), another poster creating a thread titled just relocate than somehow not understanding why other Jag fans would take offense to it and back tracked. My god whiners at least have some conviction in what you say.

What did he do? Denounce the team, threaten to never post again (oh the humanity!) or tell us how this team just needs to relocate?

I think that hasselbeck having the flu absolutely adds value to the conversation. The loss is even more mind blowing now

Quote:He didn't beat us, we beat us.  He led one TD drive and the only reason the drive was sustained is because of what, 5 penalties?  In all honesty, we shut him down but weren't able to score on their D. And we missed two FGs. Tired of hearing this crap.

Ding ding ding!  Winner winner, chicken dinner!

This is the thing the pitchfork and torches crowd you're dealing with can't wrap their tiny brains around.  They didn't beat the Jags.  The Jags did more than enough to win the game.  They also did more than enough to give the game away.  In the end, that was the way the scale tipped.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Being snide doesn't make you right.  The Colts could use your flawed argument for themselves as well.  The Jags had every opportunity to win but didn't.  You can say the Jags gave the game away but in the end, they didn't win.  You can make "what if" arguments for every loss the Jags ever had and they'd still be losses.

Or you can just look at each game individually.  We lost to the panthers, we got destroyed by the pats and we gave the game away to the colts.  That is what happened.  There is no what if.  The Jags had 2 different opportunities to win.  The game was there for us to win and we didn't seize the moment.  Now there can be all sorts of reasons why, but that is what happened.

"That wasnt the way the scale tipped".... So we found a way to lose to a terrible football team, but we should feel better about it because we beat ourselves. Sure. Ok.

Lack of precision, penalties.... Finding ways to lose is an indictment on the coaching staff

If you believe us scoring 16 points instead of 13 to beat a not so good Colts team is "seizing the moment" then OK.  That's not anything I'd be all that proud of.  It's like the team that wins the Go Daddy Bowl game.  You won but you're not very good.

Who says we should feel better about it?  That is just the reality of what happened.

Who said we should be proud of it?  I would have been critical that we let it come down to a field goal since we were on their side 6 out of 8 times in the second half.  It shouldn't even have come down to that.  But everything you are saying is outside of what I'm saying.  We beat ourselves because we missed 2 game winning kicks.  And yes, seizing that moment (kicking the game winning field goal) would have won us the game.  Are you confusing this with me saying we are a good team?  I'm just not sure what you two knuckle heads are trying to argue.

C'mon rico, post a reply woth your opinion on the regime and how much additional time they should get. How many wins must they achieve to satisfy you? And what games do you see as wins going forward?

The Jags had plenty of chances to win...but so did the Colts.  That's my point.  There is no moral victory here.

I wasn't looking for a moral victory. Anyways, everyone has their own perspective on it. I'm more focussed on our next game. We lost to a team without their starting QB who had every excuse in the world to lose. It shouldn't have even come down to a kick which is my point. I never was trying to look at the positive. Simply stating what is.
