At least the offense was good, except for those three passes Bortles threw to Marcedes when Allen Robinson was wide open.

This too, Poz is a machine in the run game.

That's fair and I don't disagree.  But easy for us keyboard warriors to destroy the mans integrity.  Anyways, separate him being a bad coach from him being a bad person.  Two different things.

 

Nobody is questioning Bradley's integrity...  I think those that are critical of Gus look at a man that brought a butter knife to cut down the entire redwood forest.  

 

It's not that we are hating on his ethics or his hard work.  But you can hack all day long with a butter knife, but you ain't gonna make a dent one 1 redwood, much less the entire forest.

 

Gus is just completely inept in terms of what it takes to be a HC in the NFL...

 

Now if you were to say, do you want Bradley to be the HC of my alma mater, the University of New Mexico, I'd say, YES!  Bring that guy in here and we'd win our conference within 2 years of his arrival.  

 

But man, as an NFL head coach, he's lost.  Best to fire him and allow him the opportunity to find a college where he can become a coach before signing day...

If Gus does stay, I suspect we see a bit of a roster purge this week, with a few guys like Grant, Myers, maybe even Armbrister and/or (extreme long shot, but think of the message it would send) Lewis cut and replaced as a wake-up call to the rest of the team. Nothing to underscore the "accountability" part of the job description like releasing a few guys who continually fail to do their jobs correctly.

If Gus were trying to save his own skin, he'd have went the Mularkey route.  He'd have thrown a player or two under the bus.  Whatever you say about Gus, you can't say that he's trying to save himself.  Having a positive can-do attitude runs out eventually.

Babich was not a good choice for D-coordinator, but shouldn't Gus mostly be in charge of the Defense?  Then again, I don't think Olson was a good choice for O-Coordinator either.  Or Fisch.  

 

 

The offense looked good today. A lot of the failures were mistakes by Bortles and poor blocking by our OL. I'm not sure how much of that second problem lies with Olson.

I'm sure it's great for fans to hear this (they've been complaining about it for a long time), but unless it gets results (and I don't think it will) it doesn't really do much other than satisfy the fanbase.

Maybe Gus will push the team to work harder.  But then you'd have to ask "Why not sooner?"  Why wait until a loss to a bottom feeder team, and not before?  

 

I wasn't a fan of the Olson hire either, but we are better last year and Bortles is on pace to break TD record.  That play call with Grant though was terrible.  At the same time though, as good as Bortles was, he left a lot of wide open plays on the field.  Olson did his part today.

Agreed, but if you're going to give the HC one last chance to show that he's not completely in over his head, a roster purge would send a strong message to his players.

Gus is a good man, nobody is going to argue with that. It appears he isn't a good head coach. It happens.

 

When he's gone I'll always look out for which team he's on etc. I never felt like that with Del Rio or Mularkey.

I just don't like the pitch call with a player who isn't in the game much and an o-line who was getting gashed all day.  Just seemed like a poor time to call that when you are on your 20.

I wouldn't give him another chance after today either. I wanted him fired last week, but it's not my call. If Bradley is going to go down swinging, cutting some dead weight would send a pretty powerful message to his players right now, especially given how young most of them are.
