You speak as if it's unfortunate that "it will come down on the HC."  He's the leader of the team, responsible for player development, scheming, season and game preparation and in-game management.  GB has failed to do this for 2 + seasons now.  It was clear to me that he wasn't a capable HC in the 2nd half of last year's opener and the rest of the season confirmed that.  This season only continues as confirmation.  He is no scapegoat here.  He is the responsible party.

except when we blitz we over run the ball carrier and he runs upfield through the secondary unmolested, that's not the coaches fault.

But guess what, the only time we had a major play on D was when we blitzed.  You can't just be mad when the blitz gashes us ever now and then.  From what I saw, the sacks, rushed throws, and tackles behind the LOS when we blitzed far outweighs the couple times a big play was made.

 

You have to remember, when we played a 3 deep zone and only rushed for they picked us apart.  When we blitzed 'em we stopped thier drives.  That's the bottom line.

There's only so much good players can do when they are hamstrung by bad coaching...  I know you don't want to see it...  But that's the explaination...  

 

AR15, Burns, Yeldon, and BB5 are having good seasons despite the coaching...  When a real HC and staff come here, we're a playoff team...  Not a contender, but a playoff team.  No doubt in my mind.

They didn't pick us apart, they had what 4 receptions to Mike Evans and Jackson? They killed us on the screens, they saw the blitz coming dumped it off short and ran through tackles all second half.

I will say this much:  Whereas before the Jaguars would have trouble attracting top coaching candidates, I don't think that would be the case if Bradley gets canned.  We have a good young QB and an owner willing to spend, and despite the record, the roster isn't THAT bad.  At least we are in most of the games now.  We lack playmakers on defense.

It's a fine line, for sure...

 

I mean Dungy had a pretty darn good team in Tampa Bay, but they didn't win the SB untill they crap canned him for Gruden...

 

Dungy then had an all time great QB, but could only win 1 SB...  Though he did at least win one and was always in the playoffs...

 

And I go back the the Saints and the year Payton was suspended the entire season, they fell off the face of the earth...

 

The year Brady had his knee injury in week one, Belicheat took a garbage Matt Castle and still won 11 games, though they didn't make the playoffs...

 

But it's true, you need talent.  But, in my mind, it's the coaching that get's you to the next level.

 

Anyways, I don't think either of us are completely wrong.  You need players and plays...  But for me, when I see this team, I think we have enough players, we don't have the coaching staff that get's them to be winners.  But that's just my opinion...  

 

Who knows?  Maybe the team runs off 6 or 7 wins in a row.  But to me, with this awefull coaching I just don't see that as possible.

Belichick before Brady took the Browns to the playoffs. Dungy before Manning took the Bus to the NFC championship and held the greatest show on turf to 11 points in St. Louis.
