New Head Coach
|
One good candidate would be Harold Goodwin. No HC experience but what he's done with Arizona's offense has been quite amazing.
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

Jim Mora Jr. would be an interesting name to keep an eye on. He has prior NFL experience and has done a good job with the UCLA program.
In this thread, we list off the coaches that we've seen on nationally televised football games who have won some games and/or have heard someone on ESPN or the radio say is a good coach who just didn't have teams who appreciated them.
(not saying that any of those options would actually be worse for us, just saying we (as couch-based fans) are probably among the worst population in the world to evaluate the abilities of potential head coaches) Quote:I say give Mike Mularkey another chance. He was given a raw deal. You have got to be joking. Quote:Sean Payton, Norv Turner. That bridge has already been crossed by three other teams, no point in trying him again. I don't see how you can lose with simply promoting Doug Marrone for the rest of the season. You keep your coordinators in place with no disruption. He knows the system and has experienced the losing culture firsthand this season, so in theory he'd have a leg up on knowing what has to change. If he doesn't make positive changes by season's end, no loss. If he does, you have your new head coach. No risk either way.
Quote:Mike Mccarthy/Bruce Arianswould be the guy if I could pick anyone but that's impossible. Khan would have to offer his yacht as part of the deal to get McCarthy or Arians. I'd love Fisher. Giants are near the top of their division. Coughlin isn't going anywhere. NO MORE COORDINATORS!!!!
Sean Payton the coach? Yes. But if he wants total control like he has in New Orleans, then hell no.
I've already listed guys, but Frank Reich and Harold Goodwin are my favs. Edgar Bennett gets a mention. Although, it is probably too early for him to get his shot. I want a guy that will make the passing game the focal point. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Sean Payton the coach? Yes. But if he wants total control like he has in New Orleans, then hell no. I think there are two things we needs. Offensive minded coach and someone with a head coaching track record. I just don't think we can afford to have an inexperienced head coach. The fans have waited too long and have been extremely patient (no matter how much I complain about you whiners :teehee ![]()
Quote:Khan would have to offer his yacht as part of the deal to get McCarthy or Arians. lol everyone you named were coordinators. Quote:Khan would have to offer his yacht as part of the deal to get McCarthy or Arians. You'd rather have Fisher than a coordinator? Got it.. A coach whose best season as a HC came 17 years ago and who hasn't really done anything above a mediocre job since.... But of course, it's all in the name

Quote:lol everyone you named were coordinators. I'm talking about no coordinators as FIRST time head coaches.

But of course, it's all in the name HC's with past failure and success know what it takes to succeed and can bypass the learning curve first time HC's need to get acclimated to. We need someone to come in and hit the ground running. HC candidates with previous job experience are usually available for a reason.

HC candidates with previous job experience are usually available for a reason. It isn't black or white. Sometimes guys just need a change of scenery. Take Coughlin for example. Just because you are a former coach doesn't mean you will be mediocre. There is a higher probability of being mediocre than good though. Sadly, I don't trust this FO to make the right decision. Quote:Josh McDanielsEveryone keeps offering him as an alternative..why do you want him as HC? |
