Thank God we drafted Bortles tbh

Quote:Bortles is clearly exceling right now. He's cutback on the turnovers. He's getting better at his reads and finding the right targets. It's offensive lineman that keep letting us down. He was sacked five or six times yesterday. They weren't creating any running lanes to get Yeldon going to take some pressure off the passing game either. Defensively this team is ugly. Bradley and Babich need to get it sorted out. My biggest fear now, is that, we'll fire Bradley, and out goes Olson as our coordinator and then in year three Bortles is yet again learning a new offense, etc. Could hinder or help him. I am not sure. He seems to have picked-up this offense fairly well. And he put the time in during the off season out West and it's clearly showed up for him in his play. It's just a shame we can't get it done in other areas.
So do you want Gus back next year for continuity or him fired for incompetence?

The one pick yesterday was in the first half yesterday. The team was in the lead in the second half. So many, many, many things on this team to pick apart. The QB is not one of them.

300 yards, 4 tds and 1 early INT and people still want to blame him lol

It's bizarre. If that game yesterday had been with Henne at QB, it's probably a 30 point loss. Bortles, Hurns and A Robinson are the only reason it was even close.

That INT blake threw had offsides what I could see on television. I could also confirm it in highlights. If lining up offside is a reviewable play, it was worth a challenge.

I really don't think blake would have any issues picking up a new offense. He seems like a student of the game so I'm not worried about a new staff hindering his progression. I think the biggest issue for him now is reading defenses and adjusting plays/reads. Which should come as he plays more games.

For what it's worth, Bortles has played tremdously better this year, still making mistakes sometimes, but it's to be expected. .he isn't going to be Aaron Rodgers..but I think it shows he can pick up a new play book quickly. Maybe Olson's isn't hard to learn, but it has to be harder than Fisches check down stuff play book from last year. If we clean house, Bortles will be fine.

Not drafting Blake Bortles will coast Bill O'Brien his job. O'Brien wanted him (O'Leary disciple) and ownership stepped in and drafting Mr. "no heart" Clowney.

In that game yesterday, if rookie Bortles was playing, the game would've been over the second he threw the pick.

He's literally making strides each game and some people just can't (or don't want to) see it for some bizarre reason.

We call that an agenda.

Was it just me, or were they jumping early the entire game?  I swore I saw at least 5 snaps that they jumped before the snap...

To put this decision in additional context, Clowney (a guy I liked) has yet to record a sack in the NFL.  I'm glad Houston took Clowney and not Bortles.

Man if they had taken Blake, the Texans would be owning this division.

It's comical.

You score 31 points with little or no help in the run game and you should still win the ballgame.

Defense can't stop anyone or anything, and the trenches are the culprit. No pass rush, and absent against the run as well.

If not the DC, the defense has a lot of injuries but how do you let the Bucs put up 38 points?  Granted 14 of them you could say was the Offense's fault but stilll thats 24 that the D let up...  over a 100 yards in rushing in the first half alone.. and the team is supposed to be good against the run if nothing else.. they built that over 3 years..

I really hope Dante Fowler Jr. does not end up like Clowney, or at least what we have seen from his so far...

We NEED Fowler Jr. to pan out.

Blake is having a much improved year than last season, he has 87.2 Rating, 63.7 QBR, (last season was 25 QBR, and 69 Rating), he has 1,299 yards (on pace for same as last years), 10TDS! (only had 11 total last year), 4INTs (had 17 last season), and 1 fumble.
