Week 7 Games Of Interest

#1

Thursday, October 15th

Auburn at Kentucky - 7:30

Auburn hit the bulk of their SEC schedule starting Thursday. Have been a huge disappointment thus far. Kentucky has shown continual improvements under Stoops. Big one for this season for both at this point.

#18 UCLA at # 15 Stanford - 10:30

Big Pac-12 match up here. Battle of North vs. South within the conference.

Saturday, October 17th

#17 Iowa at #20 Northwestern - 12:00

Two surprise teams in the Big 10 this season. Northwestern comes off a thumping and Iowa comes in undefeated with a lot to play for this season.

Louisville at #11 Florida St. - 12:00

Louisville hasn't been the team of the last few seasons but, Never an easy out with a Petrino coached team.

#10 Alabama at #9 Texas A&M - 3:30

Big SEC West match up. Texas A&M can take control of the West with a win here. Kyle Field will be rocking!

#7 Michigan St. at #12 Michigan - 3:30

Not the gigantic match-up anyone thought this would end up to be. Harbaugh has his Wolverines really clicking. Michigan St. has another solid team. Being in Ann Arbor could be huge here.

#8 Florida at #6 LSU - 7:00

Another big test for Florida. Fournette and LSU can really run the ball. Being able to limit the LSU run game will be key for LSU. If they can get it cranked up, it could be a long day for UF.

USC at #14 ND - 7:30

Big national rivalry here. Crazy stuff going on at USC this week.

Missouri at Georgia - 7:30

Can Georgia right the ship this week after a couple of big losses? Missouri not an easy out.

What else you got?

Ohio State always needs Michigan State to lose, so . . . GO MICHIGAN!

Steve Sarkisian will not be at Notre Dame. He was just put on leave of absence for a medical reason.

Why does Ohio St. need Michigan St. to lose?

Because if both teams have the same record when they meet on November 21, that game will be the tiebreaker for the BTCG. They are in the same division.

If Michigan wins and their record is the same when the meet on November 28th, that game will be the tiebreaker for the BTCG. They are in the same division.

As long as MSU is a top 10 team, I will worry more about the Spartans. Michigan started the year with a loss and MSU has not lost yet.

Of course, I am tracking both teams and don't root for Michigan every week.

The loss to Utah means nothing in the Big Ten race. Michigan is favored this week. Whatever team wins has the better shot at knocking off Ohio State. Ohio State doesn't "need" either team to lose.

So you are saying I should not care who wins Saturday. Well, I can worry less if the Spartans lose because of their ranking in the Top 10. I can root against Michigan later when MSU drops out.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Whoever wins will be the team that Ohio St. has to beat to get into the Big Ten Championship Game.

In fact, if I was an Ohio St. fan, I would be hoping for Michigan State to win. OSU gets MSU at home this year but has to play in Ann Arbor.

That would be an awesome thing to think about if the Michigan battle was being played a month later. But for now, I just want to see MSU drop out of the top 10 like several other FBS teams.

What game do you think is more winnable for Ohio St.:

at home vs Michigan St. (#39 in Sagarin ratings)

on the road vs Michigan (#3 in Sagarin ratings)

I don't care about Sagarin ratings; Right now the only thing that matters is most Top 10 teams in the AP poll losing no matter what division or conference they are in. MSU just happens to be one of them.

You said your concern was the tiebreaker for the Big Ten Championship game.

So which team do you think Ohio St. has a better chance of beating to get into the BTCG, MSU at home or Michigan on the road?

Yes that is my concern, but I would root against MSU anyway just because the Spartans are a top 10 team even if they were in a different conference. I will answer your question after I get a chance to watch Michigan play.

I wish I did not have to wait until Thursday to find out if the Battle of Michigan will be televised here. That one will be fun to watch.

You don't, it's been out quite a while. The game is on ESPN.

So do you know if the game will be televised in north-central Florida?
