Time to get rid of the dead weight players

Quote:Yes they can. Their new angle is forcing you to name someone you would bring in when you say " we need to cut <insert player here>".

They are running on fumes for sure.

Come on be a little fair

You cut Lewis today

Fair enough his play is substandard

You have to have a benefit for it beyond making you feel better

I don't see how that is being an apologist

Quote:But I thought Boselli was a sunshine pumper who never criticized the team?

That's why I pointed that out.  The tones are changing around here .... even with Gus.

Personally, I really do think we're another year away and the arrow is pointing up but a player like Gerhert should be cut immediately.   He peaked last year with his 346 yards.

Gerhart was a tool to sell Jerseys. Hasn't produced anything except for a lot of laughs at people wearing his jersey.

at least he didn't fumble it and give the other team a touchdown

Quote:Lewis is getting worse. Before the season I had given thought of re-signing him to a cheap, more in-line contract when the season ended. Now, he probably should be cut as he has added nothing.

Alualu has been up and down, but very down today. He is still cheap depth. I'd keep him around unless he starts stringing together games like today.

Grant has been a solid return man. Cutting a good rookie kick returner because of one fumble when he was hit instantly in the backfield on a pitch is absurd.

I would lean towards keeping Myers for now. He has to know that he can't continue to hurt the team by missing crucial kicks and kicking the ball out of bounds. Tight leash with Scobee being available.

We don't have the depth to cut Beadles, but we can in the offseason and incur no dead money. The same goes for Toby Gerhart and Chris Clemons.

Bernard Pierce has been ok, but that play today was just a mind bender. We can find free agent running backs that can do what he does. Cutting him doesn't necessarily help us right now.

Armbrister needs to go to the practice squad. Plain and simple.

Branch is expendable at this point. He would have to put up a dozen sacks by the end of the season for us to re-sign him... Not likely.

^This.

Although I wouldn't call Alualu "cheap." Why in heaven's name did the Jags sign him to a multi-year contract?

It is a 2 year deal through 2016 and next year is only a million bucks. It's nearly a minimum salary deal.

So you like him, and you think he is doing a good job?

All that from pointing out that he has a near minimum salary deal next year?

Quote:Which mean's he's still deemed better than 3 other players who play the same position in this team...4 if you include practice squad. So yeah, go hit the streets and find me a player that can leap frog every single one of those guys.
Lol take your pick. You could literally pick anyone and they would still play better than that piece of trash. We dont even need to sign anyone to replace him, Michael Bennet would be far and away better than Alualu. But let me guess, you'll take this garbage coaching staffs word for it.

The dudes play is non existent or terrible. Not average to below average. Non existent to terrible. But hey, just for fun, here are three FA defensive lineman (off the top of my head BTW) that would make Alualu look like an even bigger joke

Red Bryant ( 6'4 323lb)

Barry Cofield ( 6'4 306 lb)

Mike Patterson (6'1 300 lbs)

All of those people besides Mike Patterson ( who is a whole ONE INCH shorter) are bigger than 6'2 285 btw. Hell, I bet Chris Smith would be more effective. So much for the whole " not falling off trees " argument. Now that that stupid defense of Alualu is over, what the excuse now? We've already paid him too much to cut him?

Its time to get rid of Tyson Prosinski.

Red Bryant? The guy we decided to release to keep Tyson? Coefield? Tyson has more tackles in 5 games this season than Coefield had last season. He's past his prime. Patterson? So you want to replace a 1st round disappointment in Tyson with another first round disappointment in Patterson?

These guys wouldn't improve this run defense. At best they would be the same as Tyson, and then you'll be complaining about them too.

I will be happy when Alualu is gone so your obsession with him will end, hopefully.

Thats my whole point, even the injured, old, and disappointing would play as well as Tyson ( your words btw). I actually want to replace Alualu with Michael Bennet. Way to miss the point.

Lol Red Bryant was released to keep Tyson, because clearly, that was a good move. Again, keep trusting this garbage coaching staff. They also let Daryl Smith go, Im guessing since that took place, our other LBs are better than him too? Coefield was placed on IR for most of the year last year, but seriously, I want you to go look back at Tyson Alualu's tackles this year. Im willing to bet that maybe 1 or 2 were actually good plays were he didn't get blown off the ball. Mike Patterson may be a 1st round disappointment, but we aren't talking about replacing a starter, were talking about replacing a 2nd stringer, and a very bad one at that.

I wouldn't complain about any of them, because at least people wont make complete garbage excuses such as " Oh hey, he's 6'2 285, better keep him".

Just stop man, I get it, you like the dude, Im sure he's a great guy. He's a terrible football player. Its time to throw in the towel.

Lol Have I been wrong? Funny how my " obsession " has been nothing but the truth.

I should start obsessing about winning the lottery...

Joke

I've never said anything like that, but feel free to think so. Had he been drafted nearer to his valued spot he wouldn't be pinging your radar so noticeably. He's a guy filling the roster.

I was at Mandarin Ale House watching the draft with my buddies when - BAM - "The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Tyson ALOO ALOO, defensive tackle from California".

The restaurant manager who we are close with came to our table and could not believe his ears... We started chanting "Alu-ah-who?!?!?"

I was in a bar called Magnolia's in Athens, GA at the time.

So you cherry pick the second year salary and ignore the signing bonus?

If he were a minimum salary player he'd still be overpaid.
