Case Keenum

Kubiak pulled him in the third in a winnable game and stuck Schaub in. Andre and Schaub got in to it after a failed 4th down attempt in to the endzone with 1 minute left that would have won it, and Johnson walked off the field.

Texans are in full meltdown mode.[/quote

They will still beat our QB minus team!!

I didn't see any of the Raiders-Texans game but on the surface I'm surprised Gary Kubiak pulled Case Keenum.   I wish Kubiak the best in terms of his health and family but his future as HC of the Texans looks less promising tonight than it did before this afternoon.    As talented as the Chiefs were as a 2-14 team last season,   the Texans probably are a more talented 2-8 team.   That doesn't bode well for the Head Coach.

Case was struggling in the start of the 3rd quarter a bit as he was getting knocked around by the blitz (again). Kubiak pulled him mid 3rd quarter with the Texans down by 11 for Schaub, who led the team to 2 field goals in a losing effort.

After the game, Kubiak said Case was a liability in the protection scheme, and he needed Schaub in to run their hurry up.

Thanks for the information.

Despite what Gary Kubiak mentioned, my gut feeling is he should have stayed with Case Keenum.   In essence,   this would provide Keenum with invaluable experience.   Finding calls to slow down the Raiders from blitzing should have been a priority.   Instead,  the Texans have no stability at the most important position.    It doesn't send a good message to the rest of the team for the upcoming games.   Even if Keenum is inserted back into the starting lineup,   his ability to lead the team was compromised by his removal.

Case Keenum will start against the Jaguars

There's a good chance Case Keenum and many of his teammates will be looking over their shoulders.

Unless the Texans display major tangible improvement the remainder of the season,   Gary Kubiak's days as their HC are likely over.

I believe during that same presser, Gary specifically said he would pull Case again if he felt he was in trouble against the Jags. I have no idea how far McNair is going to let this go.

Based on this,  what would happen if the Jaguars Defense comes up with blitzes and execution that Case Keenum struggles with early in the game???    How is Keenum going to learn how to deal with NFL Defenses if his Head Coach doesn't think Keenum can deal with???    When a team is 2-8 but they have a young QB that has demonstrated good potential,   as well as producing at times,   this is one of those times that the G.M. needs to step in before the owner does.

Quote:If he's a one trick pony.. what's the "one trick"?  He can throw it and he can run it too.

He's played in multiple games now.. so the Colts had film on him and he doesn't start just because the starter is hurt.. he beat out the previous starter and will continue to start (so this has nothing to do with Matt Flynn.. that was a bad comparison)

What he is, is a example on how the entire draft process is a absolute crapshoot.  Case Keenum should've been drafted and he can play in this league.
WELP......HAHA
