Thank God we drafted Bortles tbh

#41

2015 doesn't seem to be our year.   At this point I'm more interested in how many TDs Bortles has than wins.  Good NFL QBs throw lots of touchdowns.   It's as simple as that.  No exceptions.   In five games, Bortles threw for one less touchdown than he threw all of last season.   That's a good sign.   I'm pretty indifferent to Gus Bradley.  If he's fired before next season Bortles would likely have to learn yet another offense which sucks.  But many quarterbacks have done this and were just fine.   All the stuff he's learned still would translate into the next season.  A franchise QB would make it work.  Also, I don't really think this will happen, but if Bortles manages to actually throw for 30+ TDs, I consider the season a sucess.  Because make a list of QBs who threw for 30+ touchdowns in the past 10 to 20 years and see what class that would put him in.

Has anyone noticed that Bortles is currently 7th in the NFL in passing yards and tied for 5th in touchdowns?  That's pretty good for a quarterback only in his second year and is playing on a team with some questionable talent around him.

He's doing great. Best QB in the division.

his future is bright. he just needs to keep improving when the game matters most.  nice stats and all but some/half if not most of it came during garbage time.

uh, no. none of the games have had garbage time other than the patriots game and only one TD came off that.

Just should of just typed in all caps and bold: I don't follow the Jags!

Would've had about the same effect.

You are correct. Funny how many people on this board try to discount his improvement.

How so?  You've got a game manager vs. an ascending franchise QB who pushes the ball down the field.  Yes Bortles has played one more game, but the stats are still far superior.

YDS       TDs     INTs      AVG          20+         40+

Bortles              1,299      10         4           6.9            18           5

Bridgewater        774          2         2            6.7            7            1

An unsurprising statement from Mr. Sunshine Pumper himself.

He is doing good, but Luck holds that title until proven otherwise.

But arm strength isn't an issue with Bridgewater...

I love how the Talking Heads prop up Bridegwater, but as has been said, dude is the epitome of a game manager....that's why his completion % is so high. he doesn't take many risks

I pretty much agree with this.

Anybody/any scout who thought Bridgewater was better than Bortles just never watched them both in college. Bortles is a legit gunslinger. Teddy "check down" Bridgewater is a below average marginal talent. He will be a backup once Adrian Peterson retires.

Bortles was basically a game manager in college most games.

Bortles was?!?! I didn't watch a lot of his games, but the ones I did see he didn't seem like a "game manager" type at all.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:That INT blake threw had offsides what I could see on television. I could also confirm it in highlights. If lining up offside is a reviewable play, it was worth a challenge.

So I'm not going crazy. I thought the defender jumped offsides as well, and I was looking for the flag.
