All Time Low?

#61
(This post was last modified: 10-13-2015, 08:50 PM by The_Anchorman.)

The team is improving because of the talent aquisition. The team is underperforming because of the coaching.

So no, not an all time low, in terms of depth. What u are feeling is a long extended period of malaise.

The all time low was during the Mularkey era when we realized we were a bad team and the cupboard was bare.

We may not be playing well now, but at least there is some talent in the cupboard.

Quote:That brings up a valid point. If Gus had the talent of say the '85 bears could he coach them to a superbowl? I don't think so

Agreed. Gus would find someway to make them the 2013 Jags.

This is an all time low? Geez, some of you are such drama queens.

We have a quarterback. We aren't trotting Henne or Gabbert out there.

Yes. I was going to mention malarkey as the ultimate low for this franchise, but was too lazy. However, u are right. That was as bad as it gets... Hopefully we never sink down to that level again.

I think the all time low was the game against the Bears in 2012

I agree, I think it will be much easier to get a real head coach onboard now that the team already has a QB prospect that can win with a great structure around him. That's the big difference. When Gus was getting hired no one wanted to coach the Jaguars because the Jaguars had Gabbert and Henne, now the Jaguars have Bortles, and he's already shown he's going to shine even though he's being surrounded by muck.

I'm sorry. You are right. Please delete this thread. I was just upset about tge 8-29 record. We are improving, and I know at this point in time is all that matters. I mean we are built, so that means we will be ready in 3-4 years. I'll stand by patiently. Thanks for clearing it up.

The premise of this thread is "all time low". Your words, not mine. You must be upset so many people disagree I guess.

I stand by my bold prediction that this team will win it's last 7 games after struggling early.

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.

In all seriousness...I think this team (under Gus Bradley) goes 3-13.  If he gets fired mid season (under Marrone) 5-11.

No, this is absolutely not our all time low. Bortles >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gabbert. The Allens are looking seriously legit, and we're still without Marks and a non-limited Thomas.

The years begin to blend together, but yeah that was bad...

Week 1 against the Chiefs and the Rams game when I finally accepted gabbert as a bust were also very low periods...

Either way, this season is not an all time low, at least not yet.

It's even more sad because we have talent. Gus doesn't know what to do with those guys that you have posted above.

Quote:In terms of raw talent on the roster, absolutely not.  We're significantly more talented overall than the last few years.

However, my ability to even pretend to be excited on Sunday is absolutely at an all time low.  I just don't have it in me.  Jokes in the office about the Jags?  I can't even bother trying to defend them.

The team has been losing for too long for me to care.  Sure, I'm still a Jags fan... I just accept that this means I'm a fan of the team that is pretty much the laughing stock of the league, and have little to no hope or expectation on ANY Sunday.

We lost to Indy with Hassleback at the helm.

We lost to Tampa Bay, and by half-way through the 3rd Quarter, it wasn't really close.  The quit was obvious.

We're almost certainly going to lose to the train-wreck that is Houston this week.

And yet... I don't even care... I expect them to lose.

I don't owe them anything.  When they decide to field an NFL Caliber team, with a coaching staff that is something a few levels above "Clown Shoes" I'll start caring again.

Until then, I'm at an all time low.
That's the thing now when friends and people at work talk [BLEEP] about the Jags I don't even defend anymore. I used to put up a good fight but now fact is fact, we've sucked for too long to even make it a debate. I just agree and keep it moving. I don't expect to win any game on the schedule anymore. That's pathetic.

That's a good point, because of talent acquisition, the Jags are not at an all time low, but because of Gus B and his 8-29 record in his 37 games as HC (and unable to even beat bad teams and backup QBs after 2 1/4 years as HC), the coaching is either at an all time low or 2nd to an all time low, depending on what you think about the Mike Mularkey season when Gabbert was the QB.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:Has this franchise finally gone off the deep end? Looking back before Bradley arrived, I'm assuming most people would agree with me that the Gene Smiff/Mularkey era was horrible.

US fans still stuck together, and we were welcoming with open arms to this new regime. Fast forward to present day, we have a number of issues. Some the same, and more than before.

Currently we stand at an 8-29 record with no hope in sight, we continue to lose, and the coaching has gotten worse. Mistakes on the HC and staff. Which to be nice, happens sometimes, but never to this magnitude.

The worst part is, the fans (us), are not happy because we continue to lose, and now the Jaguars organization has turned on its fans. We've been called ignorant, kindergarteners, and today dumb.

I'm completely shocked, and they are squirming in their hot seats as to how they can save face for this disaster. How is it the fans fault? Why would they blame us for 8-29 and numerous failures over the last 2.5 years?

This is unbelievable, and this is the first time since the inception of this once great franchise I'm disgusted by this team off the field. They need to clean it up and take responsibility for themselves.

Your dollar(s) is a vote.  If you continue to buy products and services from a franchise that insults you, you are basically saying yes I love to be insulted.

It is as simple as that.

Quote:just think.....

The Lions are 0-5

With Stafford and Megatron on their team.

Jim Caldwell a non-rookie HC.

And WAY higher expectations for their season.

Also....

Phins have fired their coach and their D is awful after is was supposed to be their year.

Saints fell off, quick fast and in a hurry. The end in near for Brees, Peyton and Loomis.

the tinhorns idiot coach can't seem to make up his mind which [BAD WORD REMOVED] poor backup to play, completely ruining Watt's chances at MVP this year.

I think we could be lower....

And both those teams would crush us.

Lol, so we are supposed to be happy because supposedly we have a QB. What good is he if we never win. Come on now.

No one said anything  about being happy. This discussion is about being at an all time low and anyone who has a memory that goes back more than two years knows we aren't at an all time low.
