Stigma, in your mock you have Bullard being a pass rushing DE but while at UF he has never played the role of as a pass rusher. Fresh/Soph he was on the opposite side of fowler in what is more of an run stopping DE and last year he was a tween but this year he is pretty much a full time DT. With that being said and with you taking a pass rushing DT in round 3 do you think Bullard could be that pass rushing DT or do you think he is too light?

What I like about Bullard is that he is relentless in pursuit of the ball.

 

He does not need to be a speed rusher to be a good pass rushing DE.

 

J.J. Watt is NOT a speed rusher, but he seems to do alright in rushing the passer.

 

I believe the Jags need to have DEs that can excel at stopping the run as well as rushing the passer.

 

Could Bullard move inside on passing down?

Jalen Ramsey is a nice player, but picking a Safety in the Top 5 seems crazy, especially when a player whom the ACC deemed as their All-Conference selection should be available at the top of Rd 2. That player would be:

Is Carl Nassib a Rd 1 selection or is he a HIGH Rd 2 selection?

 

Is he potentially a Top 10 pick?

 

There was a time back in the day, when J.J. Watt was considered only a late Rd 2 selection much like Nassib.

 

Further the accolades that Nassib is getting seems to be a lot like those handed out to J.J. Watt meaning Nassib is a HIGH EFFORT type of player that always WANTS IT MORE than the other guy.

 

It should be interesting to see how he plays against Ohio State, which will be played this coming Saturday night at 8:00 pm.

Most of us recognize that in a Gus Bradley defense, (those who have not gone over to the dark side and think that Bradley deserves to be fired immediately) the DT position is very important because the defense is designed to first and foremost stop the run. Yet, Sen'Derrick Marks showed us that the right 3 Tech DT can also create internal pass rush pressure. It seems to me as I review this upcoming 2016 draft class, that the DT is loaded with talent but that talent will be drafted early because every team needs talented DTs.

 

One such DT that could be a late Rd 1 selection or an early Rd 2 selection is

 

Andrew Billings - DT - Baylor - 6'2" 310 Lbs

 

His stats through 5 games are: 15 TT - 5 TFL

 

while not all that impressive, what it being said about Billings is, namely that he is a MONSTER STRONG and can dominate the LOS, which is kind of evident in that a 1/3 of his tackles have been TFL.

 

Baylor plays West Virginia at NOON on Saturday and I think we should be able to see how disruptive Billings could be.

 

Is he a 3 Tech? That is what I am thinking but also a player that could play the NT spot and still penetrate into the backfield.

 

Something to look for this weekend.

Keeping an eye on

 

Maliek Collins - DT - Nebraska - 6'0" 300 Lbs

 

Through 6 Games, his stats are: 19 TT - 4 TFL - 1.5 Sacks

 

Nebraska played Wisconsin this past Saturday and I watched how Wisconsin double teamed him most of the day and then ran away from him, keeping his contributions to a minimum on the stat sheet.

 

Even with constant double team, Collins applied solid pressure on the Wisconsin QB and was disruptive.

 

He definitely gets tired and takes plays off, but in a rotation, this guy is VERY DISRUPTIVE.

 

I see him as a 3 Tech DT.

 

I think he is a late Rd 2 potentially early Rd 3 selection at this moment, because he lacks length at only 6'0" and 300 lbs.

I firmly believe this draft is loaded with good DT prospects. One that has perhaps not received as much of the spotlight as other is:

 

Sheldon Rankins - DT - Louisville - 6'2" 303 Lbs

 

Last year he recorded 8 Sacks from the DT position.

 

Through 5 games his stat line looks like this:  31 TT - 5.5 TFL - 4 Sacks - 1 QBH

 

Right now he looks like a Late Rd 3 to early Rd 4 draft prospect, but his stock could rise up to the top of Rd 3.

While checking out the Top 100 College Players for the 2016 NFL Draft I noticed how far one player seemed to have slipped on the list. This player is


Tre'Davious White - CB - LSU - 5'11" 191 Lbs


He is ranked No. 49 on the list of 100 and I wondered WHY?


I checked his stats through 5 games: 17 TT - 0 Ints


yet he is ranked as the 4th best CB behind, Hargreaves(Florida), Ramsey(FSU), Sutton (Tenn) and then White (LSU)


then I came across this article and it sort of cleared things up


I think the true freshman from Jacksonville is playing better than White. Kevin Tolliver from Trinity Christian.

Is SHELDON DAY - DT - NOTRE DAME - 6'1" 285 LBS this year's version of Michael Bennett?

 

Like Michael Bennett, Sheldon Day is considered a Rd 2 selection, but his size or lack thereof just does not fit well in the NFL.

 

In 2015, he is playing DT rather than DE for the Irish.

 

Some scouts believe that Sheldon Day may not even be 6'1" and that he has short arms.

 

I believe much like Michael Bennett, Sheldon Day will fall in this upcoming draft to the mid rounds, perhaps as low as the 5th Rd or 6th Rd.
