Could be getting some firepower back for this Sunday

Let me remind you, this was the beginning of the season, with Alualu playing were the intent was for him to play, when signing him.  Ziggy Hood was the plan to backup Marks.  Your original point, if i must remind you, was that Caldwell resigned Alualu to backup Marks.  That's just false.

Quote:Lol ok, Alualu starts for Sen'derrick marks. You keep ignoring this.

But go ahead, use an ESPN PROJECTED LINEUP ARTICLE, instead of the Jacksonville Jaguars official depth chart. That's not flailing at all.

My original point was that Caldwell signed Alualu to replace Marks? My point was that Alualu was signed as depth. " Gus Bradley's 'quality depth' signing was Tyson Alualu...". That's a direct quote from me. This is why ( brace yourself) he is listed as BOTH the backup for the 3 AND 5 tech.I didn't coin him as SOLEY a 3 tech backup to Marks. I know that he rotates both positions. You do know that Tyson Alualu played 3 tech last year as well, correct? If Odrick was the one hurt, Tyson Alualu would replace him because (I know this is hard for you to grasp) he was SIGNED AS DEPTH.

It's flabbergasting that you think this is "false" when he literally starts at 3 tech every game, and is listed as Marks' backup on THE OFFICIAL DEPTHCHART OF THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS.

Lol you're right though, the actual team depth chart isn't a reliable resource. Better use a projected lineup ESPN article instead.
The bolded above is why you're impossible to have a discussion with.  You ignore what i'm saying, make stuff up, and go on tangents.  I never said anything about replacing Marks.

Depth chart's change. Intent 6 months ago doesn't.  This is clear as can be.  If you don't see it, I really can't further explain it to you.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Last season Tyson played 471 snaps at his primary position, backing up Red Bryant at left defensive end.  This offseason, he was resigned with the intent of playing LDE and adding depth to the line.  He was not signed to backup the injured Marks.  That's what i'm saying Joe.  You complained that we didn't sign a quality replacement for Marks while he was injured, sighting Marks as the solution.  It's just not entirely true, as you've come around to agree with me on.

Quote:2. Let's just ignore the Odrick signing and the Michael Bennett pick. Let's also ignore the fact that Hood, who was the primary back up to Marks, got hurt in the pre-season.
This sufficiently answered the whole argument 5 pages ago.

Dude, did you really think I meant Tyson was signed to actually REPLACE Marks?

Let me break it down for you, yet again. You said;

"Your original point, if i must remind you, was that Caldwell resigned Alualu to backup Marks.  That's just false."

"My original point was that Caldwell signed Alualu to replace Marks? My point was that Alualu was signed as depth." Im sorry if the word " replace" threw off. I'll use the phrase "fill in for" next time.

That was not my original point. My original point was that Alualu was signed as depth. I literally quoted myself saying that 2 posts ago.

" Gus Bradley's 'quality depth' signing was Tyson Alualu..."  He was signed because he is a "versatile" player, meaning he is capable of playing MORE THAN ONE POSITION. He was signed as a LDE because that is his OFFICIAL POSITION, did you not know Alualu was going to play some three tech this year?

What is with all this Ziggy Hood talk? He was signed BEFORE Marks got hurt. How does that justify you not signing another depth player? He was already on the roster when Marks was 100% healthy.

Lol wow. It really doesnt. Jesus, Here we go again...

I said we signed a poor quality DEPTH player in Alualu (" Gus Bradley's 'quality depth' signing was Tyson Alualu...") Jared Odrick isnt a DEPTH player, he is a STARTER. I also addressed the Michael Bennet pick, saying a 6th round rookie that has barely seen the field, Is not a good enough fill in for your best defensive player. Ziggy Hood was on the roster BEFORE MARKS GOT HURT, meaning, THEY DID NOT SIGN HIM TO HELP FILL IN FOR MARKS.

I don't like Alualu? Nah, not really. I'm sure he's a great guy.

Do I think he's a bad football player? Yea, I do, I have for years now, despite people on here constantly telling me I was incorrect about his play.

Funny how things turn out...
