This is a talented roster, it's the system

Quote:It was the reverse. He was shut down by McCray in the first half and torched the Jags in the second half after Dallas moved him to Gratz' side of the field. The stats I posted were from the 2nd quarter. Dez left the game for most of the 2nd half. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
This team cannot get pressure with just the front 4. Since they can't do that nothing else works.

Quote:The stats I posted were from the 2nd quarter. Dez left the game for most of the 2nd half. McCray held dez for something like 3 receptions for 22yards, everything else came from Gratz. Look it up, I specifically remember because I was at the game saying how good McCray was and then he got moved to Gratz' side and we got torched then I looked up the figures after.

Dez got 130 of his 158 yards lining up on the right side. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"
I think we have a lot of young talent on offense, but defensively, I think it's minimal. They really need to spend a whole draft on the entire defense. Telvin Smith, Marks, Odrick, Skuta, House and Colvin are really the only core players I see on that side of the ball. Fowler, hopefully, will become one. Branch, Clemons, Alualu, Miller, Poz (only because of age, he's still a smart, good LB), Cyp, Brown, Evans all need to be phased out, depending on who takes over as coach next season.
Tough thing is, it will take time to infuse talent into this defense. I expect defensive heavy in the next two drafts.

I doubt McCray would of done that much better.

That's six players. Add Poz and Fowler and we already have 8 of 11 starters. I'd also include McCray, although Gus doesn't like him, but in any case he just replaces another CB so it's still 8 starters. A run stuffing DT like Miller is easily replaceable; the safeties are the big problem. Brown and Sample might be the future there, I don't think Brown is as bad as you say, he's been playing injured a lot, but if he's not the answer at FS he's still a quality ST player. Replacing some of the ordinary players with pro bowlers is always welcome, but the defensive personnel are not as bad as the defense looks. We really need better coaching. I don't remember how well McCray was doing against him, but I mean, even with McCray he was on pace for like 112 yards, I can't look up the exact splits right now.

I swear McCray must of slept with someone's mom/wife/daughter that's the only logical explanation for his sudden disappearance, that or they paid so much for house they just want him to start. He was poor Sunday, especially the td to Hopkins back in the end zone he was caught completely flat footed and lost Hopkins completely even though he would of had time to find him if he'd turned around. It felt like they were pumping him up during TC as well.
I think Bortles is franchise, AR15 and Hurns can be something special...other than that I'm not sold on the "talent." Is some of it coaching? Sure, Bradley offers this team nothing, but I don't think his players are all that great like some of you think.
We have some talented pieces finally. Enough that nearly everyone feels like we're underachieving.
The problems are that we have fatal flaws in zero pass rush in a passing league and all our talent is a combination of too young and not being coached well enough to play to their potential consistently.

We lack in depth across the board. In terms of starters? We have about 6 solid starters that can be building blocks (Marks, Odrick, Smith, Skuta, Colvin, House). I like McCray, although I think Gus sits him out because he lacks playmaking ability. Then again, the entire secondary does. Absolutely no instinctual playmakers at safety. House has shown an ability to knock the ball away, although he got abused yesterday. Colvin is still developing, and I like what I see from him (only played in like 10 games so far). Poz will be good for another season or two, but we really need to draft his replacement to start developing behind him. Gus most likely won't be here next season, so it'll probably be a scheme change defensively. Hopefully we hire a head coach and defensive coordinator who will be willing to play to the strengths of the team, instead of forcing the team to play to the system.

Sure, Bradley offers this team nothing, but I don't think his players are all that great like some of you think. Marks, Linder and Telvin are pro bowl level talent. We also have several players who are not pro bowl level but upper half in the NFL: Parnell, Wiz, three CBs, Poz, Skuta, and Odrick. We haven't seen much of Thomas yet, but he did get open for a TD yesterday, which is what we saw as the reason to sign him. Quote:I agree. I genuinely believe we have good players for the most part. Babich needs to go. Our defensive scheme is atrocious. I've been saying the same thing for like 3 weeks! Why, god why???, does it take Bradley so long to figure something out????? Quote: Quote:Oh I understand that the bulk of his stats were against Gratz, but I'm thinking it was likely coincidence. For some reason, I have a really clear memory of this game. In the first quarter and early second quarter, McCray was all over Dez like a cheap suit. Dez was targeted several times and McCray was right there to either defend the pass or tackle Dez for little yardage. There was one particular play, I believe in the early part of the 2nd Quarter where McCray knocked a TD away from Dez in the end zone. It was the next series that Dez lined up on Gratz's side, and the rest is, as you say, history. I remember asking, why did they let Gratz cover Dez when McCray was covering him so well... Apparently, our coaches only teach our CBs how to cover on one side of the field? I didn't even know that was a thing... Either way, yes, McCray pretty much shut down Dez until the Cowboys "adjusted" and moved Dez to the other side of the field. "Adjusted" a word that is not heard of around these parts. This team is not talented. In fact, it may arguably be the least talented team in football. Injuries have obviously not helped, but it's just the truth.

Because your far from accurate. Any decent coach would have this team 4-1 or 3-2. Quote:Do you have a link for the "truth." Because your far from accurate. The evidence is on the field every week. |
