The Giant Fire Gus & Dave Thread (MERGED)

Quote:This season was literally gift wrapped to us! Watching their last game against the Bengals, they're an extremely formidable team despite these losses. I feel like McCoy is going to go berzerk against the Jaguars run defense. Frankly this defense isn't stopping the run or the pass so it's a double whammy. Jameis Winston had a 122.5 qb rating, and Hoyer just had a 119.3 qb rating.

You don't hire an o-line coach before picking an OC for no reason. Doug Marrone was brought in as a contingency plan if things got bad. You don't let Bradley finish the season without seeing what you have in Marrone at the helm.
I would like to believe that.

No wonder, Bradley must've been hitting the six-pack every night since the Marrone hiring, hence the gut
To be fair, of all the teams that change coaches for the 2013 season only 1 really could be called a for certain good hire (Arians).
Chip Kelly, Andy Reid, & Mike McCoy have been good but their teams have fallen back this year, raising questions. ![]()

What gets me, and was a warning sign from the very beginning of the Caldwell/Bradley regime, is that they axed half of the team (some good players that are starters elsewhere), but at the same time found Gabbert to be a keeper. I honestly feel like they did not do their homework when they were brought in. It's almost as if they were was some over-confidence in thinking they could build up from ground zero. I believe had they not done that, this team would be better off. Instead of making repairs, they tore the whole thing down. And now they're still working on getting the foundation to settle.
Quote:If only the Eagles or Cards had went with Gus...You know what's funny, in a sad-miserably-pathetic way? I was about to hold my nose up and say, "no way to chip Kelly, he sucks" Then I remembered Bradley's record, and realized I don't have the high ground to say any coach would have made us worse off had they been hired 3 years ago. That, my friends, is one cold and bitter realization to face and have to try and swallow down. Quote:Not that I'm super pro Gus or whatever but man Im not on the Doug boat either.... Agreed. At this point, I would be ok with Jaxon Deville as the coach. What could it hurt.
Help is not on the way.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
