People are misconstruing his exact words like usual. He pretty much just said that he is an integral part of the special teams unit so he can't be out there for all the special teams plays then instantly go out and have a full rep load on defense. He also always mentions that Davis plays better with a smaller workload. People turned this initial statement into that the only reason he isnt playing so much on defense is because they need him on special teams. They dont consider that maybe Davis with the small workload is why he is so effective. Maybe Gus and the staff is wrong and Davis would be just as good with a full load, but to get mad at what Gus said is similar to people getting mad at the Bortles kindergarten comment. Its a bit silly. That being said I definitely agree that they should at least give him a shot at a larger amount of work on defense because theres a chance he helps.
Quote:I've been hunting for this quote, and so far no luck. The only place I found even a reference to it was in an article Alfie posted, and he didn't quote Gus, nor did he source it. I've actually spent some time this afternoon listening to all of Gus' pressers over the past couple of weeks, which is painful enough, and I haven't found a quote that I can attribute to him. I was mentioned in the second hour of Monday's radio show. Is that replay available online? "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" Whatever tubby. You'll do anything to defend this buffoon coach so it is no surprise that you searched for the quote.

Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!
Of what I have read, the coaches "tried" to get him to play more snaps in the Miami game, and he "did not maintain" his level of play. Of course you may then, wonder if maybe that could be the reason that was the only game the rest of the line got any pressure?
The only legitimate concern I have read is that is apparently actually closer to 250 lbs rather than his listed weight. This is because it is the best weight for his frame. However, at that weight, they worried he will get worn down way too much, too fast. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Well it would be nice to see him get more opportunity's. There only so much "windmill" a fan can take per season.
He is a DPR. He is not an every down DE or DT.
It's just that simple.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Grow up Quote:And yet, only plays like 20 percent of our snaps if that. The only game where he started at leo and played a nearly full game was the Miami game which is our only win. So he leads team in sacks, pressure on the quarterback was good overall when he started, and we won. Am I missing something? Seriously, am I just an armchair coach talking [BAD WORD REMOVED] or is this really a strange problem thats being ignored? The "genius" Gus says he's a great special teamer so he has to rest ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Even if Gus didn't say it, actions speak louder than words. He barely plays

Is anyone surprised? We've noticed this all year, and yet he's riding the bench. This coach is an absolute joke.

It could be that he's just our most fresh player off the bench but compared to Odrick and Branch they are just a waste of space compared to he and Clemons.
No pain, no gain.
Quote:According to Gus, Davis is too valuable on special teams to waste on defense. I really wish I was making this up but I'm not. This team is coached by an absolute buffoon. ![]()

Normally, I'd assume Gus had access to some info that we don't know about. Since we're 1-5 and can't seem to sack the QB, I'm going to assume that Gus is an idiot instead.
Demetrius Mccray and Ryan Davis had to egg Bradleys house or kick his dog. No other reason explains why they aren't on the field
