A'Shawn Robinson
|
When considering what position the Jaguars need most to help transform their defense, I keep going back to their LDT or NT position that Roy Miller mans. Now I realize some fans think he's doing a great job up front, but what the team needs is someone up there who consistently dominates, and I've seen enough porous plays out of Miller to know that's not the case. The Jaguars defense scheme is in large part a 3-4 disguised as a 4-3, and it's common knowledge that one of the most important positions in a 3-4 is the NT spot. Get a truly immovable force who causes legitimate havoc up front, and the Jaguars defense is transformed. From what I've seen and read about A'Shawn, he defines what the Jaguars need at the position.
I'm looking at a potential DL next year that from left to right starts Odrick, Robinson, Marks and Fowler. Now that's suddenly a truly dominant DL that would get the Jaguars defense back on track. It's tough to say exactly where the Jaguars would need to draft to get him, but I'm thinking Robinson will be a top ten pick. What say you?

He'll probably go in the 20's since teams probably won't view him as a pass-rusher.
good player but not a game changer. i dont see him going anywhere near the top 10. if youre trying to get a disruptive force at DT, this isnt the guy.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

At the zero-tech spot you need someone primarily who can anchor, and then secondarily who can do some damage when he break through. He's great for this role.

Shock the world
Quote:Agreed. Good player, but not top 10. Borderline top 10... Todd McShay has him #11 overall... NFL Draft Geek has him #10 overall.

Quote:Borderline top 10... he will probably go bottom half of rd 1 unless some team that revolved their defense around that position falls in love with him.

This guy ain't touching the top 10.
"A man with no sauce is lost.
<p style="text-align:center;">But that same man can get lost in the sauce."
Right on cue...
A'Shawn scooped up the fumble at the end at the end of the game to beat Tennessee.

Quote:Right on cue...Like I said he's good, but not top 10. He didn't make the play..it fell right to him. What about last year when Fitzpatrick threw behind his receiver to Dwayne Gratz who ended up getting a pick 6 on the play.. Same type of thing. Robinson is good, but will be drafted by a team like the Giants around pick 18-22.
Shock the world
Quote:Right on cue... I think he's more a mid-late first rounder at best. He's not Danny Shelton.
