Called out and you don't like it.

Surprise.

Quote:Where are these "facts"?

There is value in beating bottom feeders...

it means you're moving up away from being a bottom feeder...

but I guess it's Superbowl or we suck blow it all up eh?

Find a post of mine where I said Superbowl or blow it up/we suck.  You won't find one.  You want to present things are 1 or 100.  There are many degrees in between.

Nonetheless, have fun with your nonsense.

No game can be considered "winnable" with this team, right now. We will see how Gus adjusts, but I'm sure there won't be much of an adjustment.

I didn't say you said anything...

You said you spoke of facts.....

but I didn't see any.

Things aren't 1 or 100. That's what I'm saying. I'm OK with being average this year by beating bad teams and losing to good ones.

You want to lose to no one or everyone. "I don't want to beat bad teams I want to beat good teams"

I get it.

Not looking forward to Drew Brees with our secondary. The guy threw 7 TD's yesterday against the Giants...

I'd rather have a top 5 pick than to get destroyed in the first game of the playoffs because we didn't deserve to be there in the first place.

Because having a top 5 pick guarantees you of what exactly?

Because top 5 picks have worked out so well for us the past 5 years.

2013 is the perfect example of draft positioning meaning nothing.

Fowler's injury is another good example.

Top 5 pick guarantees you were BAD the year before.

That is all.

Quote:I want a team that can beat other teams when they're at their best.  I don't want to cross my fingers and hope for wins when another team's stars are out.  The only result is that we screw up our draft position and people think we are better than we really are.

Give me a team that can compete with the Pats, Packers, Broncos, etc.  There's no value in seeing the Jags compete with bottom feeders (other than seeing we still have a ways to go).

Given the state of the team's rebuild, I'm perfectly fine with not yet being able to compete with the league's elite teams while taking home a division crown and a Playoff appearance. Nobody here thought we'd even have a chance to talk about this much back during the offseason. Granted I may be getting ahead of myself given the team's 2-5 record, but incredibly we still have a chance to take advantage of a record weak division combined with an incredibly soft future schedule.

I'll look at games as winnable when they win winnable games

On the flip side, I'm very much looking forward to going against the Saints pathetic secondary with ARob, Hurns, Julius, Greene, Walters, Marcedes and even the albino tiger all revving to go.

Are you and this idiot Vino literally trying to defend this team picking in the top 5 vs getting destroyed by any one of the other 5 AFC playoff teams?

Holy hell, can you guys put down the kool aid for one second? Wow.

Edit: I have to come back to this post. I still can't believe two people both said something so incredibly stupid back to back. Again, to make this clear, rather than be in the position to draft (or have a chance at) someone in the Amari Cooper status which we so desperately need (I'm sure both of you are so stupid you'd lump the Fowler pick in with why we made a top 5 pick and aren't any better. Nevermind how freak of an injury it was and so ill-timed) , you would rather make the playoffs and get destroyed by NE, Indy, Cinci, Denver, or... who else ? Did I get this right?

While I hope we grow into the kind of team that can compete with anybody and I think we will.......

Right now, for the balance of the season, I'll take a "W" any way we can get it.

Just play 'em one game at a time Jags!

Now would you guys stop arguing?

You'd rather forgo a HOME playoff game for a top 5 pick IN THE OFF-SEASON?

And you are calling other posters stupid?  Wow!  Just Wow!

Let me try to make sense of your rant.

Not sure what I'm "defending". What I am saying is picking in the top 5 is a promise for nothing. Caldwell could screw it up. Pick could miss. Injuries happen. "Talent" is evaluated poorly (2013 draft) and better picks are had in the mid picks with less pressure.

If you are asking would I rather make the playoffs than not? Yes.

If that is stupid. Dunce cap me!

Please come back to it.

I'm not stupid enough to root for a team to lose to potentially get a higher selection for possible talent.

I'd MUCH rather see fruits of our labor, this season. Even if it ends in 7-9 and picking 14th instead of picking 4th.

Stupid. Ha. Stupid is WANTING your team to lose.

It worked so well in the long run for the clots.

Don't want to have to NEED a top 5 pick that HAS to contribute as a ROOKIE.

But carry on dude. Whatever tickles your pickle.

LOL... and you call me stupid. Who in the absolute hell that would be in the playoffs if the season were to end today that you think the Jags have a snowballs chance in hell of beating? After barely beating Miami at home due to Miami literally committing more penalties and shooting themselves in the foot more than the Jags did, and an absolutely unbelievable start to a quarter that you won't see for quite awhile in the London game against Buffalo?

I didn't realize ganja was legalized in FL already tbh.
