Best second year QB

Carr is good. Cannon for an arm. Bortles is good too. They both have long careers ahead them. To early to tell right now.
Carr looks very good. Bortles and Carr are improving in their second season. Teddy regressing.
Carr already had a very good rookie year. He's definitely carrying del rios raiders. They have a great core. Good o line, qb, wr, and rb. We on the other hand have an improving qb and two solid wrs and a solid rb (I'm not as sold as others but the o line is so bad it's hard to be definitive). Quote:Carr looks very good. Bortles and Carr are improving in their second season. Teddy regressing. Lol ... how can you regress before you've matured? Yeah, Teddy's regressed after 23 games. Man, you're trying too hard. Why do some people take it as a personal affront to acknowledge that Bridgewater (and Carr for that matter) may turn into decent (perhaps even good, gasp!) quarterbacks? It doesn't lessen the chance of Bortles becoming very good. Some people become so invested in mere opinions. Weird.

Quote:Bortles : Favre Bortles: Roethlisberger Carr: Aaron Rodgers (his mechanics, arm strength, accuracy, and decision making have been off the charts, he also gets rid of the ball quick. I don't see the Eli comparison at all.) Teddy: Ryan Fitzpatrick
Quote:Bortles: RoethlisbergerCarr: Aaron Rodgers? I disagree because rogers is also mobile and Carr isn't that on his best day. Derek Carr: Better Version of Jay Cutler. ![]() Quote:Carr: Aaron Rodgers? I disagree because rogers is also mobile and Carr isn't that on his best day. Derek Carr: Better Version of Jay Cutler.Carr is probably faster than Rodgers. Edit: They are actually pretty much physical clones. Same height, weight, speed, and arm talent. I was pounding the table for Carr the year we took Bortles and got hammered for it. So I'm a big fan of his and am glad hes doing well.
That being said, Bortles has more long term potential. His size, in addition to his durability and playmaking ability speak to that. Carr right now is better, which is totally to be expected. He had the best natural arm in the draft, and he knew how to pick apart coverages in middle school. They're both good, they're both getting better, they're both franchise QBs, and I think they could be battling each other for a long time.

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
Carr is the best one right now but he throws a lot of checkdowns and his huge game was very Ryan Tannehill-esque in that it was primarily insane YAC that got him his numbers.
I'm not saying Carr can't take chances downfield but I'm not acting like he's some sort of next generation passer just yet.

1.Carr
2.Bortles 3. Bridgewater - Has not done anything to impress me thus far

Carr is better or should I say more refined right now. In a couple of years, we'll see where they are. I actually hope Derek Carr does well. It's good for the league to have a lot of up and coming studs. I just don't want them in our division.
